True Sacrifice
“Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; …He humbled Himself in obedience to God… Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names” Phil.2:7-9
‘For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on’ Mark 12:44. True sacrifice and the right heart get God’s attention. God loves cheerful givers but more importantly God is after the heart of those who give. The cheerfulness you see is an overflow of the state of their heart when they give. True sacrifice with God has eternal rewards. What is it that God requires of you and how long are you going to spend Read the rest of this entry
More Than These?
“After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him” John 21:15.
Every utterance will be tested. I am telling you this, by the grace of God, as somebody that is privileged [as we all are also] to walk with God. As you walk with God, believe me, God will test everything. When Abraham said He loved God, like Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you” John 21:17. In other words, he was saying you are the God that knows the heart of Read the rest of this entry
Your Heart
“Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!” Deut.6:5 [MSG].
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him” Rom.12:1. We established that God is interested in our bodies. And as we bring our bodies, God also wants our time, God wants your time, God also wants your substance. Yes, God Read the rest of this entry
Don’t Wait, Move!
“He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy” Lu.17:14.
Do you remember the story of the four lepers? [2 Kings 7:3-10]. There was famine in the land; the famine was so bad that people began to eat their children. And the four lepers said, “Why should we sit here waiting to die?” they asked each other. “We will starve if we stay here, but with the famine in the city, we will starve if we go back there. So we might as well go out and surrender to the Aramean army. If they let us live, so much the better. But if they kill us, we would have died anyway.” 2 Kings 7:3-4. Read the rest of this entry
Just For You II
‘…My purpose is to give then a rich and satisfying life. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep’ John 10:10-11.
Jesus showed up for you! Jesus bore the gift of heaven for you. You have heard it said that Jesus is the reason for the season, right? And that is true but the greater truth is that you are the reason for the season. You are the reason Jesus came. Think about it, why else did Jesus come? Why would God leave heaven and come if we didn’t need help? On that day when I stood alone at visiting day and all the cars were disappearing one after the other, it dawned on me that the reason for the visiting day was me – the student. The parents that came, came to refresh us. I know that religious people Read the rest of this entry
Just For You I
‘This is real love – not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins’ 1John 4:10
The All-Powerful God became helpless, at the “mercy” of Joseph and Mary, the amateur parents. Secondly, God came as a human being because man messed up and man had to fix it up. God became a human being because it will take man to put straight what man messed up. Christmas is such a big deal because of the relevance of Christmas. Christ, God came to earth and became a man. The Bible puts it this way; ‘For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin’ Heb.4:15 [NKJV]. Jesus understands the Read the rest of this entry
Rich Works
They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life’ 1 Tim 6:18-19.
The good news and bad news is that you are rich. Good news because God wants you to be rich for your enjoyment and all that He wants you to do. Bad news because being rich is one of the greatest challenges you will face spiritually. The greatest contender for your heart with God is money – the acquisition, retention, and multiplication of money. Money challenges our priorities because it gives us options. Wealth is deceitful, it promises what only God can deliver. We all have come to a point in our lives where we believe Read the rest of this entry
Prosperity Test III
‘They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life’ 1 Tim 6:18-19.
‘He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’ Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. 19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’ Luke 12:17-19. The fool thinks by storing up his money he will be Read the rest of this entry
Follow His Lead
‘The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage. Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Acts 8:29-30.
The second way to learn to give more, apart from being deliberate, is to go with the Holy Spirit. Whatever He says for you to do, do it! It is the Holy Spirit that knows the things that your heart has begun to or beginning to worship and He can tell you to give it away because He is a jealous God. Obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I am praying that in God’s Favourite House it will be known that if you go there you will find God and your life will change. That people will say that you can just go into God’s Favourite house with Read the rest of this entry
More and More
‘Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others’ 1Tim.6:18.
I will intentionally give more and more and more. When you come to see me in the office, I am usually dressed simply, T-Shirt and jeans. When God blesses me with lets say three hundred and fifty million dollars [say Amen], you will still see me dressed in my jeans and T-shirt at the office. I am not going to now begin to wear Armani suits to the office. I deliberately will try to maintain my level of living so that I can Read the rest of this entry
