Come And See

Ps. 66:5-6 “Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.”

Please read John 1:43-51. John 4:28-29 The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Good News

John 1:41-42 Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus…” (emphasis added).

Yesterday, I shared with you how after I got saved, I could not keep Jesus to myself. Andrew went looking for his brother, Simon, and told him, so did I. Guess what? Today, my brother is a Pastor and he is pastoring a great church. You never know what God is going to do with that your relative. Read the rest of this entry

Found To Find

John 4:28-29The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”

The Psalmist said in Ps.84:10A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Your House

John 1:38 “Jesus looked around and saw them following. “What do you want?” he asked them. They replied, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), where are you staying?’”

Yesterday, we looked at Jesus’ first words in the Book of John and how we would respond if Jesus asked us that exact question. We are confident that we would receive what we have asked for in Jesus Name. Read the rest of this entry

The Lamb

John 1:29 “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (NRSV, emphasis added)

The way [term] John the Baptist used to describe Jesus is very different from that of the Pharisees and the Sanhedrin [the body of spiritual leadership in Jerusalem]. Whereas the spiritual leaders used the terminology of the Prophets, that is, the Messiah, the Christos, the Prophet that Moses spoke about in Deuteronomy. Read the rest of this entry

By Revelation

John 1:31-32 I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

We kick off today with our final thought from yesterday and that is, God chose the one that had known Jesus from the womb and grew up with Him not to depend on his natural knowledge of Jesus. Why? So that God can reveal Jesus to him in a supernatural way. Read the rest of this entry

On Call

John 1:29 “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (NRSV).

Please read John 1:29-34 (NRSV). John the Baptist says, “He that sent me told me what to look out for” [paraphrased] and this is the first thing that jumps out at us. Meaning that John the Baptist was not just some eccentric man who went about baptizing people with water. Read the rest of this entry

In Person

John 1:14 “The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son.” (GNT).

If you have a good relationship with The Truth, you are righteous. If you have a right standing with God, you are righteous. Knowing the truth is not necessarily about being right and proving that others are wrong. You can know the truth and be wrong, but you still know the truth. Read the rest of this entry

True Focus

John 1:26-27 “John answered them, “I baptize with water. Among you stands one whom you do not know, the one who is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

John in reference to Jesus said, “I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal.” What did he mean? At that time, what is called the “Rabbinic Movement” was very strong. The Rabbis are the teachers and each Rabbi will have students. Read the rest of this entry

Martyrion

Acts 5:32-33 “We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.’ When they heard this, the high council was furious and decided to kill them.”

John 1:6-9 (NRSV) “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.  He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.  He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light.  The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.” Read the rest of this entry
