Confess & Forsake!
Prov.28:13 “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” [with emphasis].
Enjoy It
John 10: 10 “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” [AMP].
When we pray for God’s blessings I see people struggle with such prayers. And the reason they struggle is because they do not understand that God really wants them to be blessed. I have come to announce to you today that God really wants you to enjoy your life. Let me explain with the example of eating since it is a related craving for physical pleasure. God did not have to give man taste buds if the sole purpose of food was for nourishment. In reality, you can be nourished without tasting the food. There are people that Read the rest of this entry
Your Worth
Rom.8: 32 “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.”
I agree that there has been a lot of abuse on claims that “God said…” but you must know how to deal with it as a child. When someone comes to you with, “God said xyz”, you simply tell him or her to wait because you need check with your Father. He is your Father and you can check with Him. Some people will get upset with you because they do not expect you to do that. But do not take their word for it. I am not saying you should not trust people. I am saying you should check with God because God sent Jesus so you can have access Read the rest of this entry
Praise God!
Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the Lord: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!” Then all the people gave a great shout, praising the Lord because the foundation of the Lord’s Temple had been laid.” [emphasis added]
Scripture says, they sang this song to the Lord: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!” Remember that these people had just come from captivity to meet Jerusalem in shambles, in rubbles. They had just managed to lay the foundation of the temple. Note that they did not just say for the Lord is good, which would have been fantastic. But they said for the Lord is so good. How do you say, “God is so good” when all you see is rubbles? How do you say, “God is so good” when you are at the beginning of the Read the rest of this entry
Honor Principle II
Eph.6:2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”
God is big on honor. The Word of God says, “This is the first commandment with a promise. In essence, God is saying because I am particular about honor, if you obey this commandment, I will reward your obedience. I am sure you know that the “parents” God is referring to here is not limited to your biological parents alone. There are people that God has positioned in your life with the mandate to labour over you. It is your responsibility to identify them and honor them. For example, your life group leader or your department Read the rest of this entry
Honor Principle I
Eph.6:2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”
We have been dealing with curses over the past few days and we are trusting God that because of this insight, there will be deliverances, in Jesus Name.
The eleventh cause of curses is neglecting or insulting parents. Please note that this curse is different from when a parent curses the child. A lot of people these days are either neglecting or insulting their parents. You may not be where you want to be financially but Read the rest of this entry
Amen!
Lam.3:37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? [KJV]
Who is it that says you will not fulfill your destiny and you are afraid, when God has not said it? Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission? Num.23:23 No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’ Personalize it, replace Jacob in this Scripture with your own name and take the Scripture back to God.
Knowing IX
Prov.22:17–19 [TLB, emphasis added] “Listen to this wise advice; follow it closely, for it will do you good, and you can pass it on to others…”
When God wants to take you into a new experience with Him, what do you do? I would say the only response is to follow Him. And this is the beauty of relationship; the more you spend time with God, the more He reveals Himself to you. Has God not been beautiful beyond description even before you and I were formed? But as you spend time with Him, as you experience Him and tarry in His Presence, these things become real to you. Then you become better equipped to pick out His voice even amidst a crowd.
Knowing VII
Ph. 2:5 [NCV] “In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.”
Test #6 for determining God voice is: Does this make me more like Christ? God’s goal is to make us like Christ Jesus and God will not say anything that will make us less like Christ. Take note of all the Scripture references I have given these past few days. These tests are not made up. They are rooted in God’s Word and you can build your faith on God’s Word.
“In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.” One sure way to achieve this is, 2Cor.10:5 [GW] “We take every thought captive so that it is obedient to Christ.” Is the thought, the idea, the inspiration, or revelation obedient to Christ? Taking thoughts captive is something we must do on a day-to-day basis. Nobody is exempt, not even pastors. Read the rest of this entry
iWorship
Ps.147:10 (ERV) “War horses and powerful soldiers are not what he cares about. 11 The Lord enjoys people who worship him and trust in his faithful love. 12 Jerusalem, praise the Lord! Zion, praise your God!
Our final lesson about fine-tuning from prophets John the Baptist and Habakkuk is worship.
Lesson#6. I must worship: Spend time thanking God for speaking to you. Hab.3:2 [LB, emphasis added] “O Lord, now I have heard Your report, and I worship You in awe…” The truth is, when you receive God’s response to a question, it makes you love Him more! There is something about God’s response that deepens our love for Him. I hope you get this because no matter how hard I try, I will Read the rest of this entry
