Obey

James 1:22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves… 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says… then God will bless you for doing it.”

To step up spiritually, the first thing we must do is Look Up and the second thing we must do is Listen Up. However, there are two things inherent in listening up. The first thing is to pay attention [be attentive] to His voice and the second thing is to obey. Read the rest of this entry

To Do

Acts 6: 3 “…choose seven men among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom… 5 …They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas…”

Prochorus was separated the same day as Phillip. Philip raised the dead, Phillip healed the cripple, cast out demons but what did Prochorus do? The difference is that Phillip was eager. Are you eager to serve God and for the power of God to come upon you? Are you eager to operate in the same power that Philip and Stephen operated in that distinguished them from the others? That is why in God’s Favourite House, we are not big on titles. We are more focused on action.

Open Secret

Acts 8:4 “…the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. 5 Philip, for example, went to the city of Samaria… 6 Crowds listened intently to Philip because they were eager to …see the miraculous signs he did” [with emphasis]

You need to understand that all you see is not all there is. You need to understand that the Holy Spirit is the source of miracles. And you need to understand that Miracles Happen Outside Your Comfort Zone. Please read Acts 8:4 -8. If Phillip had remained in Jerusalem, he would not have worked any miracle. Maybe Phillip was an usher; the Bible says he was a deacon so perhaps he was in charge of children’s church. But if Phillip had remained in his comfort zone, miracles would not have happened. Even though the scattering was uncomfortable but it was to God’s glory so that miracles could happen.

Death To Life VII

So I did what God told me to do: I prophesied… So I did what God told me to do: I prophesied…Eze.37:7&10 [emphasis added].

You see you are going to move from death to life, in Jesus name. However, obedience to God is key. Inherent in hearing God is obeying God. Your private obedience is directly proportional [not equal] to your public influence. If you obey in private, you can speak in public. For example, God tells you to give a pen to a certain lady. And your response is to tell God how much you like that particular pen so He should choose Read the rest of this entry

How It Works

“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work” Jn.9:4

I need you to sit with yourself and come up with a ‘completely true to self’ answer to this question: what exactly are you waiting for? You have been engaged to that lady for so long, what are you waiting for? Get married! Some men will tell you they want to build a mansion first or at least have two cars. You have laid out the business plan and gone over it several Read the rest of this entry

Why Delay?

“I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands” Ps. 119:60

What is the one thing that you can do right now to make things shift in your favour amidst all the doors that God is opening and the opportunities before you? What is that one thing you can do right now to make things shift in your favour at work, in your business, in your home, in your walk with God, or in your marriage? What is that one thing? Many of us know Read the rest of this entry

Be Open!

So Elijah… camped beside Kerith Brook… ravens brought him bread and meat… morning and evening… But after a while the brook dried up… Then the Lord said… “Go and live in the village of Zarephath… I have instructed a widow there to feed you.” 1 Kings 17:5-9

The story is told of a daughter who rearranged the living room to suit her father. But when he saw the new arrangement, he was very upset and shouted at everybody. Why? He wanted everything to be the way he left it. After he had become calm, his wife asked him, have you even seen what your daughter did? But he flared up again; I want my chair where I left my chair! Does that sound familiar?

Remain Flexible

“Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left” Isa.30:21 [VOICE]

God has and will continue to give you victory in this battle field of life. You are the general of your life and you need to take responsibility for it. That is why we will continue to learn and operate these principles of war. You being the general of your life does not contradict the Lordship of Jesus in any way. In fact, God is excited when we take our place. He says “…whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heavenMatt.18:18. It starts on earth. Move Quickly!

As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him… taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down…” 1 Sam.17:48 – 49 [emphasis added]

Saul said to David, ‘you cannot kill this Goliath’. David answered back, ‘I will kill him’ and went on to give his reasons. I killed the bear, I killed the lion, and I will kill this Goliath too. Goliath cursed David with his gods. David said you come to me with sword and spear but I come to you in the Name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied. Today, I will cut off your head and give your flesh to the birds. Note that the person Read the rest of this entry

Attack!

“Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)” Luke 8:1 [AMP].

A lot of us enjoy watching or even playing a good game of soccer. As long as I can remember, I have always loved to attack and lead counter attacks. I just do not get midfielders that are always passing sideways and backwards; it irritates me. You do not win matches in your lower third; you win matches by attacking. There was this football club that would take the ball straight to their opponent’s box eighteen and do their passes there. Why? It is because you Read the rest of this entry
