Alone vs. Lonely

Luke 1:80 “John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel.”

We will kick off today’s devotion with our final thought from yesterday which is that the problem of loneliness cannot be solved by another human being. Erroneously, people look on the outside to solve a problem that can only be solved on the inside. Read the rest of this entry

Significance

Luke 19:13 “Calling ten of his [own] bond servants, he gave them ten minas [each equal to about one hundred days’ wages or nearly twenty dollars] and said to them, Buy and sell with these while I go and then return.” (AMPC)

We are to remain occupied in working hard for His invisible Kingdom until He returns with the visible Kingdom. We are to occupy with the gifts, with the talents we have been given. As Christ’s ambassadors, we must be relevant in the marketplace. Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, II

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

After we have admitted that our joy is lost, the next thing we need to do to get our joy back is to analyze the cause. We have to identify the kill joys and we are going to run through a few to get you started. This list is not exhaustive, but it is pretty detailed. Read the rest of this entry

I Will

Ps.108:1-3 “My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song.  I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations.” (emphasis added)

David is teaching us something very crucial about active worship in today’s anchor scripture which is, sometimes you need to tell yourself to get up and praise God. There will be times that you will need to command yourself to be active in worship. Read the rest of this entry

Centre of Attraction

John 4:23 ““It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.” (MSG, emphasis added)

In the past few days, we have been learning about the five things we have to do to ensure that our ships set sail and not get wrecked at the harbour. First, stop Accusing And Excusing; Read the rest of this entry

Do It Now!

Eccl. 11:4 “Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”

Prov. 6:4 “Don’t procrastinate—there’s no time to lose.” (MSG). Most times, we just waste time. There is not going to be an ideal time, start it now! Just get it done! Do not waste time, the conditions are not going to be perfect. Read the rest of this entry

Now, Not Later

Prov. 6:4 “Don’t put it off, and don’t rest until you get it done. Don’t procrastinate—there’s no time to lose.” (TPT & MSG)

Today, we will pick up from the final thought from yesterday which is, positive thinking is good, it is better than negative thinking. But it is going to take more than that, it is going to take God. Read the rest of this entry

Choose Wisely

Gal.6:5 “Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life” (MSG)

One of the greatest things God did to man was to give him the power to choose. And in my opinion, as much as it is the greatest blessings, it can also be one of the greatest curses that can happen to man. Read the rest of this entry

Two Sides

Eccl.10:17 “Happy is the land whose king is a noble leader and whose leaders feast at the proper time to gain strength for their work, not to get drunk.”

As long as what you run to is not God, that thing has become an idol. What is your barn? Yesterday, I shared two of my barns in the past – cereal and video games. Sadly, some people think that their ‘cereal’ is better than another person’s cigarette, Read the rest of this entry
