Do You Know?

John 16:16&18 “In a little while you won’t see me anymore. But a little while after that, you will see me again.” “And what does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand.”

Yesterday, we said that when God says to us, ‘in a little while’, it does not really help us because we are wondering what He means. For some of us like in the case of the disciples, that little while is just a few hours to go. Yet in a little while for some of us, it is just three more days, and what we have been Read the rest of this entry

Posture

Rev.4:10-11 “the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honour and power…” (NKJV]

Twice in our study of John 8, we see crowds attempt to stone Jesus. In the first instance, the wisdom that Jesus spoke confounded them and they dropped the stones and left. This same Jesus says to us in Luke 21:14-15So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!Read the rest of this entry

Good Shepherd

Isa.40:11 “He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.”

Being spiritual does not mean that you cannot get any value from earthly things. Jesus needed Philip’s local knowledge because they were in Philip’s hometown Bethsaida. Yesterday, we spoke briefly about a time when David also needed to rely on local intelligence even though God had given him a powerful Read the rest of this entry

His Path

John 4:1-3 “Jesus knew the Pharisees had heard that he was baptizing and making more disciples than John (though Jesus himself didn’t baptize them—his disciples did). So he left Judea and returned to Galilee.”

Please read John 4:1-42, it is our focus for the next few days and we trust that God’s ancient Word will indeed impact our lives in Jesus Name. John the Beloved pin-points Jesus’ journey to us; He left Galilee and went to Cana and from Cana Jesus went to Judea. Read the rest of this entry

Keys

John 3:30 “He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”

Jesus was an equalizer he came to show man that nobody is better than anybody. In Luke 14:7-11 [please read], Jesus advised that when you go to a party, do not take the front seat because someone greater than you can come. Jesus is saying, people are on different levels. Recognition

1 Cor.15:41 “The sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own [distinctive] way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance.” (AMPC].

John 3:27 “John answered them, “A person cannot receive even one thing unless God bestows it.” (TPT]. Look to God and God alone as your source and do not be jealous of any man. The truth is, it does not make sense to be arrogant because you are nothing without Jesus – nothing! Read the rest of this entry

Of Water

John 3:3&5 “Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God… Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” (emphasis added)

There is a lot of teaching surrounding these two verses. Some say the first time Jesus says, “no one can see the kingdom except he is born again”. But the second time, Jesus says, “No one can enter the kingdom except he is born again”. Read the rest of this entry

Dive Deep

John 3:1-2 “Nicodemus was one of the Pharisees, a man with some clout among his people. He came to Jesus under the cloak of darkness to question Him…” (Voice]

Yesterday, we saw that the man Nicodemus was an extremely powerful and wealthy Jew. He was a member of the Sanhedrin [the council], the ruling class. Nicodemus and a lot of other Pharisees were earnest seeking men who loved God and loved the Torah passionately. Read the rest of this entry

Like Mary

John 2:3-5 “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Mary was an executionist. Yesterday we said there are four types of people around us and we are also one of these four. The pessimist, the optimist, the analyst, and the executionist. God wants us to be executionists, people that step up and get things done despite the prevailing negativity. Read the rest of this entry

By The Spirit II

1Cor.12:31But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces) …” (AMPC)

Yesterday, we looked at the gifts of the Word of Wisdom and the Word of Knowledge enumerated in  1Cor.12:8. I cannot count the number of times or the number of people that have walked into my office wondering how I knew certain things, secret things. “If not that my wife and I discussed this on our way to church and we came in the same car.
