Do Right I
Prov.28:20 “The man who wants to do right will get a rich reward. But the man who wants to get rich quick will quickly fail” [LB]
Before you pay for it, pray for it – that is how I run my life. For something as simple as buying a T-shirt, I ask God for it first. I have discovered that shockingly sometimes God does not want me to buy it. Or God may not want me to pay for it from my own pocket. There are many times while I am praying before paying, God says “I will give it to you” and He does. So I do not have to pay for it. Sometimes God says watch this miracle and you walk into the miracle. And somebody you do not know and have never met shows up Read the rest of this entry
First Things First!
Phil.4:19 “God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” [with emphasis].
God will meet all your needs if you pray and expect an answer. This is very crucial. Yes God wants us to pray but He wants us to go beyond and actually expect the prayer to be answered. Matt.7:11 “If you, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him“ [with emphasis]. In forty different places in the New Testament alone God says ask. Why would the all knowing God say ask? The Word of God says, “We have not because we ask Read the rest of this entry
Most Wanted
Matt.6:32 “The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things you need will be given to you” [ICB]
If God has promised to meet every need then why do we still have unmet legitimate needs? Before we answer this question, you need to realize that for every promise in the Bible there is a premise [a condition]. God’s love is unconditional but the promises of God are conditional. This is one of the truths that you and I need to know and it births actions that we need to take. These actions are the premises that need to be fulfilled. What conditions guarantee God will meet my needs? Jesus shows us five things we should do, five Read the rest of this entry
Playing God?
Phil.4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
You are not to worry about your finances because it is unreasonable, it is unnatural, it is unhelpful, it is unnecessary, and it is unbelieving. The truth is that worry shows unbelief. Matt.6:30 “So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them” [with emphasis]. If you are an unbeliever, the Bible is saying you should be worried. But if you are a believer your Father will Read the rest of this entry
Trust God!
Gen.22:8 “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered…”
The story is told of an old woman carrying a huge basket on her head. A young man driving his truck along the same road saw her and offered her a ride in the back of the truck. As they journeyed along, the man looked in his rear view mirror and saw the old woman still carrying the huge basket on her head. So he stopped and pleaded with her to drop it in the back of the truck. She thanked him for the ride and insisted on carrying the load herself. A lot of us are familiar with this illustration so it makes it easier to explain my next Read the rest of this entry
Why Worry?
Matt.6:27 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
Jesus says we are not to worry about our finances because worrying is unhelpful. How many people have been able to pay their children’s school fees by worrying? The truth is that your worrying does not count for anything because it is totally unhelpful. An anonymous writer says, “Worrying is stewing without doing”. I once counseled a lady that had a lot of worries. By God’s grace I was able to calm her down and diffuse all her worries and she was really happy. On her way out of my office she said, “Pastor, now that I no Read the rest of this entry
Stop!
Matt.6:25 “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?”
What makes for high quality life is not money. I can tell you that for a fact. I have been married for over a decade and by God’s grace I am happily married. I look back to the seasons we did not have and the seasons we have, the truth is money did not determine the times we were happy at all. We are getting happier everyday and it just so happens that we are getting wealthier everyday too. Stop linking the quality of your life to the amount of money you have. So that your life does not pass you by before you discover that it is not Read the rest of this entry
More Than Money
Ps.37:25 “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” [NIV, with emphasis]
The futurist magazine did an extensive survey and discovered that the number one fear of the future is financial fear. The research also revealed that there is no amount you can make or save that cannot be lost. Is that not scary? The fear of a financial future is major for a lot of people. So how can we banish financial fear? How can we be free from financial worries in a world that is highly financial and how do we live without financial fears or financial worries? There is hardly anything you will do these days without spending some Read the rest of this entry

Eph.5:25 “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her” [with emphasis]
Men, before you got married, you must have thought this was the easiest instruction to follow right? But a lot of men feel that if they were to love their wives, the women would begin to take them for granted. The truth is that some women do not know how to behave and for this reason they would abuse the love you give. But the answer and the only response to such people actually is love. Some men Read the rest of this entry

John 15:12 “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” Sadly, a lot of us really do not understand what this means. There was a huge chasm between God and us. But love made God come down and rescue us. He was insulted, slapped, spat on, abused, ridiculed, and nailed to the cross. But He was not angry or afraid because He was moved by love.
