Be Open!
“So Elijah… camped beside Kerith Brook… ravens brought him bread and meat… morning and evening… But after a while the brook dried up… Then the Lord said… “Go and live in the village of Zarephath… I have instructed a widow there to feed you.” 1 Kings 17:5-9
The story is told of a daughter who rearranged the living room to suit her father. But when he saw the new arrangement, he was very upset and shouted at everybody. Why? He wanted everything to be the way he left it. After he had become calm, his wife asked him, have you even seen what your daughter did? But he flared up again; I want my chair where I left my chair! Does that sound familiar?
Maneuver
“Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life” John 3:6
George Washington, one of the ex-presidents of the United States of America, was the one that led the campaign that broke the back of the British hold on America. It was successful because he deployed the Principle of Maneuver. Up until this time, he had lost all his battles. George Washington was trained in continental warfare. Continental warfare has a lot to do with structure and order. He approached the battle against the British forces using his Read the rest of this entry
Remain Flexible
“Your ears will hear sweet words behind you: “Go this way. There is your path; this is how you should go” whenever you must decide whether to turn to the right or the left” Isa.30:21 [VOICE]
God has and will continue to give you victory in this battle field of life. You are the general of your life and you need to take responsibility for it. That is why we will continue to learn and operate these principles of war. You being the general of your life does not contradict the Lordship of Jesus in any way. In fact, God is excited when we take our place. He says “…whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” Matt.18:18. It starts on earth. Force Multiplier
“And if a house is divided (split into factions and rebelling) against itself, that house will not be able to last” Mark 3:25 [AMP]
Mass has two components: Concentration and Unity. And because of these two components, the Principle of Mass is a force multiplier that enables smaller forces to conquer a much larger enemy. “And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of the water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David…” 2Sam.23: 15-16 [NKJV, emphasis added]. Focus
“The Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program …select seven men who are …full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility” Acts 6:2-3
Concentrate your powers! Even the apostles realized that they could not serve food, take care of the widows, and visit the prisons. So they chose to focus on the ministry of the Word and to prayer. What is that one thing? Concentration simply means the power of focusing all one’s attention. When you focus, inevitably you create blindness and that is okay. But a lot of people do not want any blindness. However, the truth remains that you cannot be effective if you Read the rest of this entry
Twenty – Eighty!
David remarked longingly to his men, “Oh, how I would love some of that good water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem.” So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew some water… and brought it back to David…” 1 Chro.11:17-18
The Pareto Principle states that twenty percent of what you are doing is responsible for eighty percent of the results you are getting. Only twenty percent of what you are doing right now is producing eighty percent or more of the result you are getting. Regardless of how wealthy you are, it is only twenty percent of what you are doing that is generating the wealth. Even in church, it is only twenty percent of the people in attendance that make things happen. Read the rest of this entry
“One Thing”
“The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple” Ps.27:4
The Principle of Mass is effective on the offense and the defense. A classic example in warfare is the citadel strategy. In the days when cities and countries used to be physically walled, the strategy was to wall the outer perimeter of the city and go further into the city creating three or four concentric circles [walls]. This is so that if the enemy breaks through the first one, the Read the rest of this entry
Be Brutal
“But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God” Lu.9:62
The opposite of concentration is distraction. What are the things that are distracting you and distracting your forces? Get rid of them. Why? Because if you do not actively get rid of them, they will spread you too thin, you are going to dissipate energy and you will be totally ineffective. There are many things that you could be doing, but there are also things that only Read the rest of this entry
Concentrated Mass
“And David said… “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of the water from the well of Bethlehem… So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well… and took it and brought it to David…” 2 Sam.23:15-16.
Every facet of life is a battle and you are the general of your life. God wants you to take responsibility for your life. Remember David and Goliath? David took responsibility for the nation [God’s people]. God is waiting on you to take responsibility for your career and for your marriage. If you do not love your spouse who would love him or her for you? Take Read the rest of this entry
Heaven-Programmed
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8
“Fear often disguises itself behind the mask of care. Fearful people often excuse their fear as caution” – Andy Stanley. You know you are afraid but you keep telling yourself and others that you are taking calculated risks. How long do you think you can disguise this fear as taking calculated risks? Yesterday we talked about the corridor principle and the research that was Read the rest of this entry
