New Wine

Mark 2:22And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.”

1 Cor.12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (NRSV, emphasis added). Yesterday, I shared how we used to take people through a spiritual experience. However, because we recognize that man is spirit, it is possible for people to be spiritually active even before they surrender to Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

Walk & Talk

Jer. 33:3 “Ask me, and I will tell you things that you don’t know and can’t find out.” (CEV)

You have to learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit. You have to talk to Him and actually expect Him to talk back to you. Do you think it is spooky or maybe even scary to expect the Holy Spirit to talk back to you? Guess what? The Holy Spirit is already talking to you, you just have not realized it. Ask Him questions and expect His answers. I do not do it as often these days maybe I need to begin to do it again as often as I used to. But years ago, when I meet someone for the first time, as I shake the person’s hand I ask, “Who is this, Holy Spirit?” and He always responds – always! It is so exciting and interactive.

I met a lady back in the day and when I asked the Holy Spirit about her, He said, “She is brutish.” I had never heard the word brutish before. So, I checked the dictionary, there was no Google at the time. The dictionary defined brutish as ‘He that causes pain.’ I understood the Holy Spirit was saying that she will cause me pain. My response? This one cannot hurt a fly. She was so sweet, so gentle, and so beautiful. How can You say she is brutish? I convinced myself that I did not get what the Holy Spirit was saying this time. The truth is that you have to give yourself some bandwidth, sometimes you will not get it right and it is fine. So, I pushed it aside, but it kept coming back to my remembrance. Fast forward two years later, the girl showed me. I could have saved myself all that drama.

With the people you employ, you can save yourself a lot of drama by just asking. The people you bring into your business; you think because somebody just has a bright idea you should partner with the person? You do not know the things that are going on behind the scene. Trust me, you have no clue. But if you ask, God will show you, God will tell you. Years ago, I was travelling, and sitting beside me was an old white frail lady. I put her age at eighty, eighty-five. If I am going to be sitting beside someone for six to eight hours, I want to know who the person is. So, I did not shake her hand or anything, I just said to the Holy Spirit, “Who is this person?” And He said, “She is a missionary.” I looked at her, “This one? How can this old frail woman be a missionary? It is a tough thing to be a missionary. So, I dismissed it.

She was struggling with her seatbelt, I helped her. I wanted to sleep but she would not let me. She kept telling me stories and I ended up not sleeping. Then, she told me that she had been a missionary in Calabar since she was eighteen. She had dedicated her life to the gospel and was now going back home at eighty-five. I was shocked. By now the plane had landed; then she held my hands and she began to pray and prophesy at the top of her voice. I was embarrassed but people that know God sometimes don’t care who is staring. Everything she prophesied has come to pass. The point is this, we need to learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please tell me things that I do not know and cannot find out, in Jesus Name. Amen!

One & Only

Ez. 34:11-12 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep. I will be like a shepherd looking for his scattered flock. I will find my sheep and rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on that dark and cloudy day.

Yesterday, I said that it is how Jesus treats His sheep that made me determine that ONLY Jesus will be my Shepherd. The question is, how does Jesus treat His sheep? When I am hurt, how does Jesus respond? Like sheep, you and I are going to get hurt in this world. Read the rest of this entry

The Exchange V

Ps.126:1-2 (KJV) When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

Yesterday, we said that when God wants to beautify, robe or crown someone, He puts a smile on his or her face. Smiling makes you beautiful. I pray that you will smile physically, you will smile spiritually, you will smile emotionally, and you will smile relationally in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

Can He?

Ps. 121:1-2I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!”

There is no help apart from the Lord. Anyone or any force that claims they want to help you, if God does not help you, they are wasting your time. David understands this and David says, “…My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Read the rest of this entry

Source Dependent II

1 Chro.4:10 (VOICE) “He asked the God of Israel, “Please bless me and extend my territory. Let Your hand be with me and guard me from harm so I will not experience pain as my mother did.” And God did just that.”

It Is The Source That Creates The Stream. A stream that forgets its source will dry up. You will not forget your Source and you will not dry up in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

The Place

Ps. 91:1 & 4 (NKJV) “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Regardless of how bad you think you are, or how good you think you are; you will receive help from above today in the Name of Jesus. No one is too bad or too good that God cannot help. No situation is too bad that God cannot save. Read the rest of this entry

Take-Action

Ps.12:6 (TLB & NKJV, emphasis added) “The Lord’s promise is sure. He speaks no careless word; all he says is purest truth… Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

The power of prayer is not in our prayers but in His answering. Some people are so confident in their prayers. Have you heard statements like this, “When I pray…”? Who are you? It is good to pray and if you think you pray well, praise God for you. Read the rest of this entry

Posture

Num.23:19 “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

Josh.14:8…For my part, I wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God.” (emphasis added). Wholeheartedly describes Caleb’s posture as regards God’s promise and this is very instructive. Josh.14:11I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then.” Read the rest of this entry

His Definition

Rom.8:37 “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”

Golf is a very interesting game; it tests every boundary. I have heard people call themselves all sorts of names because the ball they played started off dead straight towards the hole but turned off. Cursing the ball is bad enough because who played the ball? Read the rest of this entry
