Isa.55:8-9 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Please read John 5:16-47; every time we open God’s Word, we must approach it knowing that it is so hugely important. So, my prayer for us is that God will teach us Himself and give us understanding in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Jesus was an enigma. Read the rest of this entry
Do Likewise
Gal.3:27-28 “And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Eph. 2:12-14 “In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.” (emphasis added). We are spiritual Jews; our operations, Christianity as Jesus wanted it is not a religion. His desire is to have a people that are separated for Him and for His Kingdom. Read the rest of this entry
The Mirror
John 4:7&9 “Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans…”
Why did the Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans? We began to answer this question yesterday and it will interest you to know that the enmity ran even deeper. We mentioned earlier that at the time John the Baptist and Jesus were in ministry there was a huge Rabbinic movement. Read the rest of this entry
Boundless
John.4:6-7 “Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.”
What are the things in your life that perhaps you are ashamed of? For the Samaritan woman, it was perhaps having five husbands. The Rabbis had declared three husbands to be the limit for women. Interestingly, men had no limit to how many wives they could marry. Read the rest of this entry
It Is Okay!
John.4:6-7 “Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” (emphasis added).
Today’s scripture reference shows us both the humanity and humility of Jesus. John tells us that Jesus was weary, tired, and thirsty. This is Jesus the water of life, the Rock that gave water to the Jews when they were in the wilderness. Jesus was that rock; Read the rest of this entry
Shoshbin
John 3:29 “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this pleasure and joy of mine is now complete.” (AMP, emphasis added).
The bridegroom’s best-man in the Jewish culture is called the shoshbin. In those times, the stealing of brides was very rampant. Usually, after the bride has been prepared, there will be some bandits lurking, waiting for an opportunity to grab the bride. Read the rest of this entry
Knowing
John 3:26 “So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Rabbi, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Messiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him instead of coming to us.” (emphasis added).
In today’s scripture reference, John the Baptist’s disciples were practically blaming Him for identifying Jesus as the Messiah because now Jesus is also baptizing people, and everybody is going to Him instead of coming to John and his disciples. Read the rest of this entry
Of The Spirit
John 3:5 “Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” (emphasis added)
John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” It also means that you cannot explain the operations of people that are born of the Spirit. Your Witness
Acts 2:36-37 “So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
John 3:2 “After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” Who are the “we” that Nicodemus was referring to in this scripture? Read the rest of this entry
