Shepherd vs. Cowboy
Ps.26:3 “Your constant love is my guide and your faithfulness always leads me.” (TEV, emphasis added)
Who is your shepherd? I hope that by now you can say Only Jesus! A lot of us know people or are people that travel. When we travel to new places, sometimes we go around the city just to appreciate the sights. Read the rest of this entry
Fact File
Ps.139:16 “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed”
I am confident that God is going to change your destiny for good, in Jesus Name. It is important for us to understand that our God is a God of automation. When He creates, He sets up systems such that things continue to work and remain productive. Take the earth for example, God has created it in such a way that it sustains itself. He set seasons in place that ensures that there is a consistent circle of life. It was no different when God created man. God equipped man with everything that pertains to man’s fruitfulness and success. Read the rest of this entry
Lock It Down!
Gen.32:24 “…But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” 28 “Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him. “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.””
How can a man wrestle with God and win? It is easy to read this and miss the weight of the exchange that happened and the statement that God made. The Lord is God, the God of all the earth. The One that gave boundaries to the proud waves of the sea; the same One that gives command to the lightening and marches out the stars every night. He is God, the One who humbles the proud and dispossesses mighty kings. The One whose breath laid bare the depths of the Red Sea. This same God wrestled with Jacob and Read the rest of this entry
Yes, You!
“When Jesus came by, He looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name, ‘Zacchaeus!’ He said, ‘Quick, come down for I must be a guest in your home today.’ Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy” Luke.19:5-6 [emphasis added]
God is after you. God wants to have a relationship with you. God wants to connect with you. Zacchaeus goes out of his way to find Jesus only to discover that, the whole time, Jesus had been looking for him. Jesus looked at the tree and said, Zacchaeus come down. Zacchaeus must have fallen out of that tree. The Bible says he came down from the tree quickly. That is all the information we have. We are not told how he came down. But just imagine you were the one on that tree looking for Jesus and unknown to you He even Read the rest of this entry
Even You
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” Eph.2:8-9
In Luke 18:25, Jesus said, “It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Not long after that statement comes Zacchaeus. As you can imagine everybody was waiting for Jesus to give him a show down. Everybody was waiting for Jesus to tell him the story of his life and its fullness or lack thereof. Standing there was Zacchaeus, the same man that climbed the tree because he was too short to see Jesus from the ground. His name, Zacchaeus, means the righteous one. But Read the rest of this entry
In Your Hands
“…But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.” “What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied” 2Kings 4:1-2
I want you to know without a shadow of doubt that it is your job to find that opening and to exploit it. God can help you find it but it is still your job to exploit it. We tend to think of openings and opportunities as a distant thing. “The greatest people maximize the opportunities at hand” – Anonymous. Look around you; there Read the rest of this entry
How It Works
“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work” Jn.9:4
I need you to sit with yourself and come up with a ‘completely true to self’ answer to this question: what exactly are you waiting for? You have been engaged to that lady for so long, what are you waiting for? Get married! Some men will tell you they want to build a mansion first or at least have two cars. You have laid out the business plan and gone over it several Read the rest of this entry
Why Delay?
“I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands” Ps. 119:60
What is the one thing that you can do right now to make things shift in your favour amidst all the doors that God is opening and the opportunities before you? What is that one thing you can do right now to make things shift in your favour at work, in your business, in your home, in your walk with God, or in your marriage? What is that one thing? Many of us know Read the rest of this entry
Just Stand
“Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!” 1 Kings 18:44
I am able to live with the fact that I have tried something and it did not work than not try it and regret that if I had tried, maybe it would have worked. This is the mantra that I live by. Big deal if I tried and it did not work; I will just try another thing. But a lot of people are laden with regrets about the things they should have done but did not do. But that is going to Read the rest of this entry
Follow Through II
“Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times. But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times…” 2Kings 13:18-19
Yesterday, we talked about the twin battle between the British forces and Turkey. We pointed out how in the first battle, the British backed down too quickly. Take note, they would have subdued Turkey if they had just followed through. In the second battle, the British lost again because they delayed at a point when they should have proceeded to launch Read the rest of this entry
