Just Like Jesus III
Mark 1:35 “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” (emphasis added).
Before daybreak Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place, not to sleep, not to worry, not to update His social media status or refresh His feed, or to send an instant message. Read the rest of this entry
Stay Focused!
James 3:12-13 “Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring. If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honourable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
Have you noticed that when you start fasting, it seems like everyone everywhere you go is feasting? Sometimes, we are tempted to tell the people we do life with that we are fasting, Read the rest of this entry
Christlike
Luke 4:1 “Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where he was tempted by the devil for forty days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.”
We are kicking off the year with our focus on Jesus; I believe that is the best to begin every endeavor. We will be looking at different aspects of Jesus’ Read the rest of this entry
Never Empty
2 Kings 4:3 “…Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. 4 Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars…” 7 “…sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.”
Life is not a straight line, things happen to us. We get battered and we lose stuff. But the mistake most people make is to lose hope because of the things they have lost. Read the rest of this entry
Fulfilled
Matt.1:20 “As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.”
One of the most indisputable things about life is the accuracy of prophecy. I often say that, if someone says that He is going to die and rise again on the third day, and He is able to pull it off, Read the rest of this entry
God-Sure
1 Kings 18:37 [NIV] “Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.
We should stop making excuses and stop giving excuses. No matter the demands of the situation, Jesus never gave excuses. Every one that asked to be healed, He delivered. In western Nigeria, Read the rest of this entry
The Genesis
Rev.21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” 5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” …Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”
If you would be honest with yourself, you will agree that God has given you a lot of ground in your past. There is a lot of gain in your past, Read the rest of this entry
The Focus
Ex.33:19 “The Lord replied, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will call out my name, Yahweh, before you. For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” [with emphasis]
What you do tells a story of what you actually believe. A man told his pastor that heaven and hell cannot really exist. “Why do you say that?”, his pastor asked. Read the rest of this entry
The Way
Heb.12:2 “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne” [with emphasis].
Do you want to sit in the place of honour God has for you and your destiny? If your answer is yes, then you must keep your eyes on the joy while you go through the pain. It is not about the pain, it is about the joy. Read the rest of this entry
Through Death
Jn.12:24 “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels–a plentiful harvest of new lives.” [with emphasis].
It is so important that we understand that the way of the Father is the way of love that leads to life through sacrifice. God is saying the seed needs to die, not to be exterminated but to produce an abundant harvest. Read the rest of this entry
