Abel’s Example

Heb.11:4 “It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.”

The mistake a lot of people make is thinking that the Old Testament is not relevant to us. That is a big fat lie! What they actually mean is the Law. The Law came by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

J-O-Y

Ps. 118:24  “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Do you know anyone or are you the kind of person that remains joyful in times of adversity and uncertainty? If it is someone you know, then what strikes you most about that person? Read the rest of this entry

Contrite Heart

2 Cor. 7:10For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death” [NKJV].

David says in Ps.51:17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.” The reason why people are able to go back to their sin is because they do not experience that contriteness of heart. Read the rest of this entry

The Formula

1 Cor.3:7 “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.”

You and I must make it our priority to connect to the heart of our Father and not just focus on getting results alone. The truth is that the formula will deliver results and that is unquestionable. But the question is, is that proceeding from the heart of the Father? So if you are just about the formula, you will get results. But it is for this same reason a lot of “tongue-talking” people are going to hell. People are actually using their spiritual armory to perform witchcraft and it has nothing to do with God. Some Christians are praying for other Christians to fall down and die. Do you think their Father, our Father will be happy? Is that proceeding from His heart? Let pleasing the heart of the Father be your goal at all times.

The Son’s Heart

Matt.6:10 “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” [KJV]

Every Son knows the ordinance of His Father [the ways of the Father]. Remember when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness and satan said to Him, “If you are the Son of God [you know the ordinance of heaven], turn these stones into bread”. But Jesus said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word…” What Jesus was saying in essence is, “Even though there is a formula to turn stones into bread, it is not the heart of the Father for Me to turn stones into bread”. I hope you get this.

The Father’s Heart

Ps.103:7 “He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel”

The ways of God are both the formula [the ordinance of heaven] and the act [the character] of the Father. You must know both to understand the ways of God. It is not just the ordinances; if you know just the formulas you are going to get into trouble. Why? It is because if you know just the formula, you will get the result. The beauty of the formula is that you do not even have to be saved to know it. If you know it and work it, you will get the results but you can lose your soul. It is possible to actually operate under the ordinances of heaven and go to hell.

Reward

Gen.29:25Morning came: There was Leah in the marriage bed!” [MSG, with emphasis]

We teach our people [intending and already married couples], that when in marriage, the package [everything you see] is your portion. We teach our people acceptance. You accept the totality of the other person. Just accept it because in the morning it will always be Leah. You have to accept your lot in life because that is how it is. Three times in the Book of Ecclesiastes [3:22, 5:18 & 19], the Bible admonishes us to accept our lot in life.

Are You?

1 Cor.15:9 “For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.”

If anyone understood the privilege and favor that comes with grace, it was Paul. Paul never lost sight of the fact that he was a man, unworthy outside of Christ. Even though Paul embraced his new identity in Christ, he did not lose sight of where he was coming from. So Paul was able to stay grateful to God and that is where God wants us to be.

God has saved us through the Blood of Jesus and we stand blameless before Him. But God is not done yet; He wants to make us like Read the rest of this entry

The Truth!

Isa.64:6We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags…”.

Are you worthy? This is a question that you must confront yourself with. Most times, we do not bother asking because we usually approach God with an attitude of unworthiness. And rightly so, because by ourselves we are unworthy; the best of our righteous acts is like a filthy rag before our Holy God. However it is because of this fact that Jesus came.

Block III

Prov. 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

We have seen how pride and fear can result in a closed mind. A hardened heart is barren!  Nothing can grow there.

#3. The third mental block is Bitterness. A lot of people are struggling with questions such as: Why did God allow this to happen to me? If God really loves me, how come abcd Read the rest of this entry
