Point Of Contact IV
Acts 19:11 “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.”
Handkerchiefs were taken from Paul’s body and carried to where Paul himself could not go and those handkerchiefs healed the sick. I mean that is just amazing – charge and discharge. A man once came for one of our God Will Do It Again Services and when it was time for anointing, he had his handkerchief anointed. This man traveled home to his sick mother who had been unable to walk. He laid the handkerchief on her and the woman got her healing and began to walk. All glory to Jesus, now and forever.
Partnership
Job 38:1 “Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind: 2 “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? 3 Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them”
God does not want us to lose sight of the fact that He is undeniably God and that we need Him for miracles to happen. Please read Job 38:1-21. God does not usually speak in a whirlwind but when God speaks to you in a whirlwind, you know there is trouble. Picture the beach for a moment and how the waves charge towards you; but they get to a point and they run back. God actually put a barrier for the sea; you cannot see the barrier but the waves know it. The reason there is erosion is because man has pushed back the water. The point is this – God is awesome.
Help
Ps. 103:20 “Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!”
Angels are released when you connect to God’s assignment for you. If you are running a business and the business is to the glory of God, as you pour your heart into that business, angelic assistance is released on your behalf. When we say the things that are coming this year are bigger and better than what is gone, if all you see is a fatter bank account, newer car, newer shoes, bigger houses, fresher wife, then there is a huge problem. If you do not see how you can be useful for God, if you do not see how you can expand God’s Kingdom, if you do not see how God can use you to touch people’s lives, then there is a problem because the money or the resources is without a mission.
Competency
Prov.22:29 “Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people”
The third way to increase worthiness or to become worthy is to be competent. Competence particularly is a burden. There are so many people that love God and are tongue talking but are totally incompetent. A lady was trying to sell a product to me but it was obvious she did not even know the product. In the past I have made up my mind not to let anyone waste my time; instead I switch off from the conversation. When she noticed I was switching off she said, “But I come to your church!” My response was, “That even Read the rest of this entry
Are You?
1 Cor.15:9 “For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church.”
If anyone understood the privilege and favor that comes with grace, it was Paul. Paul never lost sight of the fact that he was a man, unworthy outside of Christ. Even though Paul embraced his new identity in Christ, he did not lose sight of where he was coming from. So Paul was able to stay grateful to God and that is where God wants us to be.
God has saved us through the Blood of Jesus and we stand blameless before Him. But God is not done yet; He wants to make us like Read the rest of this entry
Take The Stand I
“And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh…” Ex.8:20.
I like using my work out time to listen to a variety of podcasts. I was listening to Dave Ramsey’s podcast and two people called in. The first person, a gentleman said his wife was a spend drift. He wants to take charge of their finances but all she loves to do is shop. Personally, I would say there is nothing wrong with shopping but you have to take charge of your financial future. The gentleman said they separated at some point because of it but because he loves her so much, he went Read the rest of this entry
Strike!
“But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times!” he exclaimed. “Then you would have beaten Syria until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times.” 2 kings 13:19
“Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times” 2 kings 13:18. This was the mistake the king made. God told him to start but he decided on his own when to stop. If God told you to start, let God tell you when to stop! If God tells you to strike, strike and keep striking! But Read the rest of this entry
In Word And In Deed!
“When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Matt.21:39-40
We established that serving is a three-fold call. #1. Serve the people you are with.
#2. Serve in the church you are in. Just commit to serve in church. There is a group of people that clean the church. There is another group that cleans the convenience. There is a group that is in charge of aesthetics. Another group handles content and multimedia. There is a group that ensures Read the rest of this entry
Saved To Serve
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” Phil.2:3 [ASV, emphasis added].
We are saved to serve. Perry Nobel says, “Saved people serve people”. I attribute this statement to him because I have heard him say it the most. If you are saved, you are saved to serve. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” Phil.2:3 [ASV]. I trust that you are fired up to serve and the only question on your mind now is how Read the rest of this entry
True Humility
“Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God” John 13:3 [emphasis added]
Scripture is clear, Jesus knew who He was. He knew how powerful He was. Many of us think people are humble because they are downtrodden and they do not know who they are. Humility is “knowing” who you are and laying it aside. False humility is trying to pretend that you do not even know who you are. True humility is “knowing” who you are and laying it aside. Jesus knew who He Read the rest of this entry
