Plugged

Philip.4:13 (Ph) “I’m ready for anything through the strength of Christ who lives in me.”

Are you living without power? Or are you just carrying on without considering that you are running on battery power? Or are you one of those whose cable is actually plugged into the source, Read the rest of this entry

Jesus

Col.2:14 “He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.”

In Christ Jesus, there is no shortage of life, no rationing of life, and there are no exchanges necessary. Jesus does not need to destroy one life to make another life better. Read the rest of this entry

Secure Indeed

Ps.62:1-2 [MSG] “God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, an impregnable castle: I’m set for life.”

Imagine this, a child is jolted from deep sleep by the sound of thunder and the first thing he sees is lighting flashing through the window blinds. The lights are off because the storm has caused a power outage, Read the rest of this entry

My God

Isa. 8:13 (KJV) “Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.”

God is more than enough to meet our spiritual needs, our directional needs, and our security needs. Human beings have different needs, what the economist have tagged Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Read the rest of this entry

Right Leading

Ps.23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake” [NKJV, with emphasis].

David shows us a very clear progression here. There has to be a making and there has to be a leading before there can be a restoration. The reason it has been impossible for people Read the rest of this entry

The Leading

Deut.8:3 “Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord” [with emphasis]

When God makes you lie down in green pastures, He is about to give you food that your fathers, your ancestors have never known. So that you can learn that man lives by every Word that comes out of the mouth of God. Read the rest of this entry

Forced Down!

Ps. 147:10 (NKJV) “He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.”

Sometimes, God puts us in really uncomfortable positions. Years ago, when I finished from the university and preparing to go for my service year, God gave me today’s scripture reference. Read the rest of this entry

Present & Personal

Ps.23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” [NKJV, with emphasis]

In this scripture alone, David points out so many things to us. David says, the Lord is my shepherd. He did not say the Lord was my shepherd and that is so instructive. Read the rest of this entry

Spiritual Position

1 Sam.7:12 “Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means “the stone of help”), for he said, “Up to this point the Lord has helped us!” [with emphasis].

Please read 1Sam.7:7-14, it is the anchor scripture for our discourse over the next few days. Read the rest of this entry

Special Ability IV

Acts 2:37 “Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 41 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.

To have God’s blessing that keeps intensifying we must continue to Be Devoted To God’s Word. We must hear it, read it, study it, memorize it, and meditate on it. Read the rest of this entry
