Increase Influence
Matthew 5:15-16 “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Yesterday, we established that listening is a language of love, listening validates people, and listening communicates value. You must learn to listen, just listen. For a lot of us, our parents sent us away when we initiated conversations with them. Read the rest of this entry
Pay Attention
James 1:19 “Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]” (AMP)
In my walk with God, I have gone through seasons of dryness, seasons where it seems like I am searching for Jesus like Mary and Joseph (Luke 2:41-50). One of my fastest ways of reconnecting is calling up a friend that I know loves Jesus and talking about scriptures. Read the rest of this entry
Connections
Isa.5:2&4 “He ploughed the land, cleared its stones, and planted it with the best vines… Then he waited for a harvest of sweet grapes, but the grapes that grew were bitter. What more could I have done… I expected sweet grapes, why did my vineyard give me bitter grapes?
Proverbs 6:6-8 “Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! 1 Samuel 9:24 “…Take a look. This was set aside for you. Eat and enjoy it all because this has been reserved for you until the appointed time… So Saul feasted with Samuel the rest of the day.” (Voice)
Do not rush. If you are an entrepreneur, I am sure you have heard the term first movers advantage. Another research shows that the first movers advantage is a myth. Ask & Believe
Col.3:13-14 “Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”
The first thing you need to know about the A. B. C. of taking bold steps in your relationships is A is for Asking. Matt.7:7-8 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Eric Schmidt, the Read the rest of this entry
Alone vs. Lonely
Luke 1:80 “John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel.”
We will kick off today’s devotion with our final thought from yesterday which is that the problem of loneliness cannot be solved by another human being. Erroneously, people look on the outside to solve a problem that can only be solved on the inside. Read the rest of this entry
Rise Up
Phil.3:12-13 “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me …one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead” (NIV, emphasis added).
There are barriers to moving from seeing to doing, barriers to taking bold steps, and the first is the barrier of complacency. The second is the barrier of loss or the unwillingness to bear loss.
