His Person

Rom.10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (NKJV].

John 11:22-23 But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” And Jesus said, your brother will rise again, to which Martha responded, ‘yes I know, in the resurrection morning.’ Jesus says, ‘I am telling you that your brother will live again.’ Read the rest of this entry

Engrave It

John 10:28-29 “And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (AMP]

John 10:24-26So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered, “I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name testify to me; but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. Read the rest of this entry

Voice ID

John 10:3 “and because the gatekeeper knows who he is, he opens the gate to let him in. And the sheep recognize the voice of the true Shepherd, for he calls his own by name and leads them out, for they belong to him.” (TPT].

Yesterday, I shared that no matter how noisy the marketplace is, when my grandmother calls me, I hear her voice above all the noise. I cannot explain how I know her voice, I just know it. In an experiment [and you can attempt this as well]; a child and his friend were put inside a room. Read the rest of this entry

Reflections

John 8:28 “So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will understand that I am he. I do nothing on my own but say only what the Father taught me.”

Jesus said, ‘you are going to see the Son of Man lifted up’ and everyone in Israel knows that phrase to mean crucifixion. Jesus was saying, ‘you are going to see me crucified, and then you will know that I am who I have said I am.’ Read the rest of this entry

Not About People

John 7:3-5 “and Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles! You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!” For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.”

We will start off today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday. You will notice that in our study of the Book of John we will trail off our discourse from previous days because of the way John links every detail and every thought. Read the rest of this entry

Instruction

2 Tim.3:16 “Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.” (TPT]

John 5:7I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” God is focused on you, “Would you be made whole?” What do you want? Instead, you are focused on how your sister cheated you fifteen years ago. Countercultural I

Jn.4:9&27 “She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink? …Just then his disciples came back. They were shocked to find him talking to a woman, but none of them had the nerve to ask, “What do you want with her?…” (emphasis added).

What this woman was really saying is, ‘It is bad enough that I am from Samaria and You are a Jew. And added to being a Samaritan, I am a woman, ‘a woman’. So why are You asking me for a drink?’ Did Jesus not know she was a woman? Read the rest of this entry

Shoshbin

John 3:29 “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this pleasure and joy of mine is now complete.” (AMP, emphasis added).

The bridegroom’s best-man in the Jewish culture is called the shoshbin. In those times, the stealing of brides was very rampant. Usually, after the bride has been prepared, there will be some bandits lurking, waiting for an opportunity to grab the bride. Read the rest of this entry

Keys

John 3:30 “He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”

Jesus was an equalizer he came to show man that nobody is better than anybody. In Luke 14:7-11 [please read], Jesus advised that when you go to a party, do not take the front seat because someone greater than you can come. Jesus is saying, people are on different levels. From Heaven

John 3:28 “You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah, but I have been sent ahead of him.’” (NRSV]

John the Baptist know who he was. There is nothing as good as being comfortable in your skin. There will be only one Messiah and His Name is Jesus. The fact that your son is not the Messiah does not mean he will not fulfil His destiny. Read the rest of this entry
