Time, Talent & Treasure

Matt. 2:11-12 “They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (emphasis added).

God wants us to be positioned in such a way that we can say like the wise men, we are seeking Jesus. What happens when you give God your time, your talent, and your treasure? He multiplies it, that is what He does. Let me share a personal testimony with you. Read the rest of this entry

Loaded Benefits II

Acts 2:2-4 “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit…”

John 20:22Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” What is the difference between what happened in Acts 2 and this experience in John 20? When Jesus breathed on the disciples here, they were clothed with power and authority as a Church. Jesus was clothing them with His power and authority. John 20:23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” It is almost unbelievable that God will give men such authority. But the Church has that power to retain people’s sin and to forgive.

What happened at Pentecost was what was prophesied in Joel 2:28-29. “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.” (KJV). Seeker Heart II

Isa.42:3 “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice.” (NIV).

God cannot ignore a genuine seeker and David understood this which was why he said in Ps.51:17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.” (NKJV). That is why everyone that seeks God genuinely, finds God. Read the rest of this entry

Peace of Rome?

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

The Roman kingdom under Caesar claimed that they were fair, and they were for peace. They even had the edict called “Pax Romana” which means “the Peace of Rome” and it is supposed to be built on justice. But the hypocrisy of the Roman system is exposed in Read the rest of this entry

Truth

John 18:38 “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime.

“What is truth?”, Pilate asked. In John 18:37…Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” Jesus said, ‘Everybody that loves the truth and knows the truth follows Me.’ Pilate asked, “What is truth?” Pilate was a Roman political Read the rest of this entry

Unity & Glory

Rom. 15:6 “In this unity, you will share one voice as you glorify the one True God, the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, our Liberating King.” (Voice]

If in the few hours He had left, Jesus thought it important to pray for unity in the Church, then it is worthy of focus. What I say to my friends, my colleagues, my seniors in ministry is that, ‘we do not have to agree on all the minors. Read the rest of this entry

His Might!

John 16:24You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.”

Today’s anchor scripture shows us clearly that the new privilege of asking the Father in the Name of Jesus and receiving answers is tied to our joy. This belief of, if you pray, you do not need to get any answers. just love Jesus, He does not need to answer your prayers. Read the rest of this entry

Faithful = Fruitful

Luke 16:10 “If you’re faithful in small-scale matters, you’ll be faithful with far bigger responsibilities. If you’re crooked in small responsibilities, you’ll be no different in bigger things” (Voice).

Fruitfulness is a big deal with God. If as a Christian, you do not bear fruit, Jesus says, there is a question mark somewhere. The challenge I have seen with Church folk is people want to be fruitful in their minds, that is, people have a mental ascent. They agree to fruitfulness, they like to be fruitful, but Read the rest of this entry

In Relationship

John 14:10-11 “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me…”

Son of Man

John 11:51-52 “He did not say this on his own; as high priest at that time he was led to prophesy that Jesus would die for the entire nation. And not only for that nation, but to bring together and unite all the children of God scattered around the world.”

John 11:44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” [KJV]. Jesus had already brought Lazarus back to life, but He chose not to do the remaining work for them. Read the rest of this entry
