In Time

John 6:14-15 “When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, “Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!” When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their king, he slipped away into the hills by himself.” (emphasis added).

I always like to imagine how things would play out in scenarios like this one. After they had eaten and everyone was full, the people said to Him with excitement in their voice, ‘Jesus, welcome! We thought You could only heal. We did not know You could also give bread.’ Read the rest of this entry

From Heaven

John 3:28 “You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah, but I have been sent ahead of him.’” (NRSV]

John the Baptist know who he was. There is nothing as good as being comfortable in your skin. There will be only one Messiah and His Name is Jesus. The fact that your son is not the Messiah does not mean he will not fulfil His destiny. Read the rest of this entry

Eyes Right

John 2:16 (TPT] “And he shouted at the merchants, “Get these things out of here! Don’t you dare make my Father’s house into a center for merchandise!”

Sometimes people, even friends, come to me asking to be taught how to do certain things but when they find out that there is nothing, I do for God that I profit from, their interest dwindles very quickly. A friend once came asking to understand and learn how we put together the FreshFire devotionals. Read the rest of this entry

The Temple

John 2:16Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here…” (emphasis added)

Yesterday, we saw Jesus doing some very unconventional things. Jesus did not only hand make a whip, He used it on people. This is not the picture of Jesus a lot of Christians want to see. Jesus is one hundred percent grace (100%) and one hundred percent truth (100%). Read the rest of this entry

Not Your Ways

Ps.69:9 “Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.”

Please read John 2:12-25, we see a direct fulfilment of today’s scripture reference. Let me give you some background; the population of Jerusalem is about two hundred and fifty thousand people. The law demands that at a feast like this, everyone in Jerusalem must come to Jerusalem to worship. Read the rest of this entry

Think On These

Luke 11:10 “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

We start today’s devotional with the concluding thought from yesterday which is, “Lay hands suddenly on no man…” (1 Tim. 5:22, KJV). John provides us with the missing link regarding Jesus choosing the disciples. We see from John’s account that Jesus already knew these men before He engaged them. Read the rest of this entry

By The Spirit V

Acts 16:18 “This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.” (emphasis added).

Today, we will start off by concluding on the story in Acts 16. What do you think would have happened if Paul and the others did not discern the source of the girl’s manifestations? Like we said yesterday, it is not every time that God requires us to address such manifestations. However, the gift of discernment of spirits helps you to be spiritually aware. Mindful

Joshua 23:11 “So be very careful to love the Lord your God.”

The Holy Spirit is a person you can love and talk to. As we learn to love and learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit, it leads to us learning His moods and understanding His feelings. You need to learn His moods and understand His feelings. While there are certain things that the Lord is not interested in. There are certain areas that God wants to move in. The Essentials

Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

Rom. 6:4b Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we can also live a new life.” (NCV, emphasis added). This new life the Bible is talking about here, does it apply to people who have been Christians for over thirty years, people that may be referred to as old Christians? Yes, it does. The Better Life

John 4:14 (TLB) “But the water I give them,” he said, “becomes a perpetual spring within them, watering them forever with eternal life.”

In yesterday’s devotional, we established that everyone wants to have “the good life” and the good life means different things to different people. However, in the pursuit of the good life, we experience exhaustion; we are tired because it is draining. Read the rest of this entry
