Good News!
Isa.9:6 (KJV) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Christmas is very unique for several reasons and I will explain why. The Christmas season is very unique because it is the season we have chosen to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Irrational Compassion
Luke 10:34 “…Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’”
To be able to show compassion, you have to see people how God sees them. God does so much for us but do we always do the right thing at the right time?
Compassion Channel
Luke 10: 34 “Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.”
The Samaritan “felt compassion” for the wounded man. Some equate compassion with wishy-washy sentiments and weakness,
All Inclusive
Rom.10:11 “…Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Over the next few days we are going to be studying Luke 10:25-37 [please read]. Choose to let God’s Word renew you and unlock your bowels of compassion.
Pay It Forward
Matt.18: 33 “Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’”
Someone once said that when you are seated, your flaws are not very noticeable. But the minute you step up and begin to go higher,
Kindness
Matt.10:8 “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!” [with emphasis]
What the world misses is that your character eventually becomes your reputation; because your character will over take your reputation. Who we are on the outside should be the same as who we are on the inside.
The Assurance
Heb.10:23 (AMPC) “So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.”
Jer.29:10 “This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.
Hear No Falsehood
Jer.29:8 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, 9 because they are telling you lies in my name. I have not sent them…”
Do not allow people tell you what is not God’s will. Do not allow people tingle your ears with things that are contrary to what God has said. No matter how nice it sounds, do not listen to them.
Hold On!
Jer.29: 11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you…”
As we endure, our character grows and develops. With endurance working hand-in-hand with courage, discipline, and vision, you will see your desires come to pass, in Jesus name.
Divine Possibilities
Matt.19: 21 [NIV] “…go, sell your possessions and give to the poor… 29 “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”
The cost of having vision, of being a God-inspired visionary as exemplified in this Scripture, is losing everything. And Jesus says the reward is you will get a hundred times more in this present world and eternal life in the world to come. Read the rest of this entry
