Open Up!

Acts 2:3-4 “Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

The immediate evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is joy but the expression that comes out is, other tongues, speaking in other tongues. Must everybody speak in tongues? No! Some people remain at half a cup till they see Jesus and they are going to heaven. Read the rest of this entry

Thirsty?

John 7:37-38 “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

The Holy Spirit is the person of God Himself. Believers in the Old Testament obviously had the Holy Spirit in certain measures, and they had certain encounters with the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry

Our Advocate

John 14:16-18, & 20 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. …I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

When we look at what theologians have called the dispensation of divinity; there is a period that they categorize as the dispensation of Jehovah, of God the Father. That period is from creation till when Jesus came. Some people say that when Jesus came is the dispensation of the Son. Read the rest of this entry

In Us & With Us

John 16:7 “But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.”

The Amplified Bible Translation of today’s scripture reference reads, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. To Cancel

2 Cor.5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. ‘he old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

How does this resurrection power benefit me? Over the next few days, God Himself will unpack this truth and help us see clearly the difference resurrection power makes in our lives. The first thing is, Resurrection Power Is The Power To Cancel Your Past. Read the rest of this entry

In Sync

Judg.7:19-22 “…Suddenly, they blew the rams’ horns and broke their clay jars …and they all shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” …all the Midianites rushed around in a panic …the Lord caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other with their swords.”

The third thing required in birthing the sound of freedom is Prophetic Action. God wanted to do something, but He needed the children of Israel to take a certain posture. Read the rest of this entry

He Not It

John 14:16-17 (AMP) “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth… He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”

The Advocate

Acts 2:2&4 “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

Please read Acts 2:1-4. The truth is, the Church cannot be the Church without the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot function or be all that God has created us to be. We need the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry

Q & A VIII

1 Cor.12:4-6 “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.  There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.”

Question: At what point are these gifts deposited in the individual – before or after salvation, or during the baptism of the Holy Spirit, or are people born with it? Read the rest of this entry

Guided?

1 Tim. 3:15 (NIV) “if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.”

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be used with diligence, cheerfulness, and faithfulness. Please read Rom.12:6-8; 1 Pet.4:10 -11. Spiritual gifts are to be used in an orderly and fitting way. Read the rest of this entry
