You Must V

1Cor.13:4 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged”

Remember our closing story from yesterday’s devotional? We will be taking our answer to the question of who moved a step further today. The seat that was between the couple at the end of the pastor’s message was now filled and the question is, who moved? The person that should move is the person that is closer to God.

Mount Zion

Ex.15: 13 “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed.
In your might, you guide them to your sacred home… 18 The Lord will reign forever and ever!”

In Psalm 77:4-14 [please read], we see how the story of the Psalmist changed drastically from despair to faith in one chapter. I pray that in this current chapter of your life, your story will change drastically. The key to the drastic change that the Psalmist experienced was focus; he changed his focus to God. Pray. Invite. Encourage

Eze.36:26-27 “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes… and do them” [KJV]

As you step out and reach people for Jesus in this season, you will operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and you will work miracles. Your fruit will abide in Jesus Name. Know that you are not alone, the Holy Spirit has gone ahead of you and He is working with you. So you are going to get the result, in Jesus Name. God loves His children and He does not want any of them to go to hell. Have that at the back of your mind as you reach out to people. Do not let what you see or hear discourage you.

Tactical Maneuver

John 8:6 “This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.” [KJV]

I have taken steps that if God did not come through, I would have died. But God came through. You cannot buy the Holy Ghost with money. Simon the sorcerer saw what was happening and he offered to give Stephen and Peter money in exchange for the power to work miracles. Their response to him is as true today as it was in his day; you cannot buy the Holy Ghost with money. I had to sit down under Pastor Sam and learn what he was doing. I had to learn that the Holy Spirit is the source of miracles and that when it comes to faith, having a plan B negates your faith. What do you need to know and who do you need to learn from?

Body Of Evidence

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit Is The Source of Miracles. You must prioritize your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Earlier on in my walk with God, I believed that God was powerful but I had my reservations about the “miracle thing”. I had seen my mother and my grandmother pray and things happened. It was not that I did not trust the Pastors that God was using to work the miracles. But when people testified of miracles, I just felt they were being over-zealous. That was how much of God I knew and understood at that time. Things are very different now.

Present Help

Ex.4:10 “But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” 13 But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.”

The fear of inadequacy is capable of completely blocking us out of God’s plans if we allow it take hold of our lives. As much as the fear of inadequacy is legitimate, we must not allow it to stop us from fulfilling our destiny in God. If you read Exodus 3 & 4, you would be amazed at how many times Moses protested because he felt inadequate for God’s call on his life. But in response to all of Moses’ fear of Read the rest of this entry

Take Action I

Ex.17:9 “Moses called for a young leader named Joshua. Moses (to Joshua): Select some of our best men, and go fight against the soldiers of Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand at the crest of that hill overlooking the battlefield with God’s staff in my hand” [Voice, with emphasis].

The beauty about God’s Word is that the more you engage it, the more it engages you and the more it accomplishes in and through you. Please read Exodus 17:8-13. The second thing we see is that the Power to Prevail is released when you Take Action. You are the general of your life and great generals take action. Moses did not just wait for Amalek. Moses took action and initiated the battle against the Amalekites.

Power

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

I am confident that your life will not be void of power. All God asks for, is that you give Him all the glory, all the credit. God wants us to acknowledge that power belongs to Him. The only time we will run into problems is when we attempt to share in God’s credit [glory]. God does not really like that. King Nebuchadnezzar attempted to share in God’s glory and God caused him to eat grass for seven years until he gave all the glory to God and acknowledged that the Most High rules. Power belongs to God. I take time out before Read the rest of this entry

Confess & Forsake!

Prov.28:13 “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” [with emphasis].

Give Thanks

Ezra 3: 11 With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the Lord: “He is so good! His faithful love for Israel endures forever!” Then all the people gave a great shout…” [emphasis added]

When a child wakes up from a nightmare, hearing the voice of the parent alone is comforting. Immediately the child hears the statement, “Its okay, Daddy/Mummy is here”, the child feels a sense of security and calms down. The child does not first measure the circumference of the parent’s biceps. Knowing that Mummy or Daddy is there is enough. Whether the parent can fight or not does not matter. The child feels secure in the parent’s arms. That child will sleep off on the parent’s shoulder regardless of what is out there. I Read the rest of this entry
