Who & How?

John 4:22 “You worship guessing in the dark; we Jews worship in the clear light of day. God’s way of salvation is made available through the Jews. But the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.” (MSG)

Jesus was saying to the Samaritan woman [and to us by extension] that one of the barriers she and the Samaritan’s were having in worshipping was they do not know Who they are worshipping. Read the rest of this entry

In Obedience

Ex.23:22 “But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you.”

John 9:7He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!” Note that this man could hear, he was blind, but he could hear. So, he heard Jesus spitting and he probably was wondering, what is this man doing? I hope He Read the rest of this entry

Love Obeys

John 14:23-24 “Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.”

Dabar

Heb.4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

John connects John 1:1 with Genesis 1:1 in a beautiful way. The Book of Genesis in Hebrew text is called Bereshit and it means “in the beginning”. Meaning the entire Book of Genesis is called the beginning. Jn.1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (NRSV, emphasis added). Gen.1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Courage 1.0

Building Faith

John 20:25 “They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”

The question on our minds when we come to God and when we come into His presence or His house, should not be – am I going to be blessed today? The question should be, would God be blessed today because I came into His presence, would I bless God’s heart today? Read the rest of this entry

New Attitude

Heb.11:13 “All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth”

In this season, God is saying to us, don’t stop calling. However, the Lack or Loss of Burden and the Lack or Loss of Knowledge causes people to become weary of or to stop calling. The third reason we stop calling is, Read the rest of this entry

Seed & Harvet

Ps.39:4-5 (Voice) “Eternal One, let me understand my end and how brief my earthly existence is; help me realize my life is fleeting. You have determined the length of my days, and my life is nothing compared to You. Even the longest life is only a breath.”

Eph.6:5-9 (NRSV) “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ; not only while being watched, and in order to please them, Read the rest of this entry

The Dynamics III

Matt.19:5-6 (KJV) “And said, for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

For what cause? For the cause of marriage “…shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh…” When a man confuses his mother for his wife, Read the rest of this entry

The Dynamics II

Col.3:20-21 “Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become discouraged.”

The concept of obedience according to God’s Word, changes as a child matures. As a parent, when you are talking to a ten-year-old, obedience can be likened to being a dictator. Read the rest of this entry
