Sons Not Orphans

Gen.2: 19 So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one.”

We work because work is God’s idea. People like to paint a picture of paradise as a place where people are just sitting around, eating everything but not working. Remember the Garden of Eden? Read the rest of this entry

Love Story

Jn.15:13 “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

It is truly unfortunate that a lot of people measure God’s love for them by what they have and what they do not have. A lot of people measure God’s love for them by what has happened to them or what has not happened to them. Read the rest of this entry

The Beauty

Ps. 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? 4 The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life…”

The grave is empty. Jesus is risen and alive! The beauty of the entire Christian experience is that our God is alive and well. How?

Eph.3:11 “This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence” [with emphasis].

Today’s Scripture reference answers the question posed by today’s topic, the question of how? How are we to show up before God? The Bible tells us, boldly and confidently because of Christ and our faith in Him. Read the rest of this entry

Do You Believe?

Mark 16:17 “These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them…”

Your Reality

Col.2:14 “He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross” [with emphasis].

The Holy Spirit has ensured that Jesus’ experiences were documented for you and I to draw strength and encouragement from. When we look at what Jesus went through, we can see clearly that God can dull the smartness of the enemy for our sakes. Read the rest of this entry

Elevation not Elimination

1Cor.2:9 “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Yesterday we established this truth, that satan is limited in knowledge but he keeps guessing. The devil knew that God was going to send a deliverer to Israel while they were in Egypt.

The Joker

1Cor.2:8 “But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. 9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared…”

A lot of us played cards for fun growing up and we are familiar with the card called the ‘Joker’. The ‘Joker’ is a game changer. When you pick the ‘joker’, no matter how the game swings, you remain confident. Read the rest of this entry

Prophetic Action

Jn.3:14 “And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.”

If you and I can get the concept of The Cross right, a lot of things will begin to fall into place in our Christian walk. I pray that the significance of The Cross will become a reality in your life, in Jesus Name [say amen]. Read the rest of this entry

By Faith

Gal.6:14 “As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.” [with emphasis]

Paul says our interest in the world must be crucified and yesterday we discussed in detail what that interest actually entails. However, Paul did not stop there. Paul says, “…the world’s interest in me has also died”. Read the rest of this entry
