Q & A, II

Luke 11:13 “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”

When you ask for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, sometimes you also need to check if you are attuned and check issues of faith. Sometimes the Holy Spirit has given you the gift, but you do not even believe it. I suggest you check these first before concluding that the gift is s not for you. Read the rest of this entry

Q & A, I

1 Cor.12:4 &11 “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all… It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”

When you pray in tongues you charge yourself up spiritually like a battery. When you pray in tongues you pray from your spirit. When you pray in tongues your prayer is dictated and directed by the Holy Spirit. When you pray in tongues you operate instantly in the spirit realm. Read the rest of this entry

In The Spirit

Romans 8:26 “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.” (MSG).

Yesterday, we began to look at the benefits of praying in the spirit and we said we will be focusing on fourteen out of the many benefits of praying in tongues. The first two are When You Pray In Tongues You Charge Yourself Up Spiritually Like A Battery and When You Pray In Tongues You Pray From Your Spirit. Read the rest of this entry

Imitate

Heb.6:12 “Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”

God wants us to follow the examples of those that have gone ahead of us. 1 Cor.14:18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you.” This may sound like an arrogant statement, right? You know how sometimes you listen to people and you just know the person has not even started? Read the rest of this entry

About Tongues, II

Heb.6:12 “and not grow lazy. We want you to walk in the footsteps of the faithful who came before you, from whom you can learn to be steadfast in pursuing the promises of God.” (Voice)

Yesterday, from our reading in 1 Corinthians 14:1-15, we saw that Paul did not have an issue with speaking in tongues, neither did he have an issue with speaking in tongues either in a public place or a private place. However, he had an issue with speaking in tongues in a public gathering to God’s people. Read the rest of this entry

About Tongues, I

Eph.6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

There is no way you can pray at all times if you do not pray in the Holy Spirit. If you are not baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I pray that you will open your heart to the Holy Spirit today and He will fill you to the overflowing. Read the rest of this entry

Pray!

Psalm 55:17 “Evening and morning and at noon, I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” (NKJV)

Why do we pray? We began to answer this question yesterday and we will pick up today’s devotional from our first point which is, God commands us to pray. The second reason why we pray is Prayer Empowers Us To Resist Temptation. Read the rest of this entry

In Preparation

Hab. 2:1 “I will take my place at the watchtower. I will stand at my post and watch. I will watch and see what He says to me. I need to think about how I should respond to Him when He gets back to me with His answer.” (Voice)

Thank God for His kindness over us and it is our prayer that God will breathe upon us and change our lives even as He speaks His Word to us. I want to start by celebrating you for hanging in there with God and trusting God all through, regardless of how this year has been so far. Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, V

Rom.14:17 “The Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and JOY in the Holy Spirit.” (emphasis added).

I get my joy back by first admitting I lost it, analyzing the cause, correcting what is wrong, focusing on the good in your life, and spending time with God every day. Next find a way to give back. Find a way to sacrifice, find a way to be a blessing. Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, II

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

After we have admitted that our joy is lost, the next thing we need to do to get our joy back is to analyze the cause. We have to identify the kill joys and we are going to run through a few to get you started. This list is not exhaustive, but it is pretty detailed. Read the rest of this entry
