Our Advocate

John 14:16-18, & 20 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. …I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

When we look at what theologians have called the dispensation of divinity; there is a period that they categorize as the dispensation of Jehovah, of God the Father. That period is from creation till when Jesus came. Some people say that when Jesus came is the dispensation of the Son. Read the rest of this entry

In Us & With Us

John 16:7 “But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.”

The Amplified Bible Translation of today’s scripture reference reads, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. Cherished

John 14:19 “In just a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!” (MSG, emphasis added)

Please read Mark 15:21-41. The night before Jesus was crucified, He made a very strange statement; strange considering the context He was in. The disciples were expecting the Messiah as a conquering king that will come and physically liberate the nation of Israel. Read the rest of this entry

For Love Sake

Rom. 5:8 (AMP) “But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God wants you to be His friend. He is not interested in religion. God wants a relationship with you. Do you know why you are here right now and not six feet under? Do you know why you are not in other horrible places that you could possibly be in today? Read the rest of this entry

The Essentials

Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

Rom. 6:4b Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we can also live a new life.” (NCV, emphasis added). This new life the Bible is talking about here, does it apply to people who have been Christians for over thirty years, people that may be referred to as old Christians? Yes, it does. New Day

1 Cor. 1:30 “…a clean slate and a fresh start come from God by way of Jesus Christ.” (MSG, emphasis added).

When we come into God’s presence, it is so important that we open our hearts to God, His Word, and to all that God is doing. Do not take it for granted that it will happen every time you come into God’s presence. Be deliberate about it. Read the rest of this entry

Same Power

Rom. 8:11The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

Jesus is alive and for us, this is worthy of celebrating every single day. Jesus is alive and it is a big deal. John 14:19 In just a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you’re going to see Me because I am alive and you’re about to come alive!” (MSG, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

New Life

Rom 8:13 (MSG) “The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life.”

Rom. 3:23-24 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Freed

Rom. 3:23-24 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (emphasis added).

Being a Christian is summed up in one word and that word is “Done”. It is because of what Christ has done that we can do what He has called us to do! We stand tall not on the authority of our dos [prayers, giving, serving], but on the authority of the complete work of Jesus on the cross of Cavalry. Read the rest of this entry

Responses I

Ps. 92:4-6 “You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. O Lord, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this”

How does your shepherd respond when you are in a pit? If one falls into a deep pit, there are more than five world views on the corresponding response. I am going to share five of the major world views from the five major world religions. Read the rest of this entry
