For This Cause

John 15:16 “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

John 15:1I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.” In yesterday’s devotional, Jesus showed us everything about our walk with God from this verse. Jesus says, He is dependent on The Father and we are dependent on Him. Anyone that thinks they are not dependent on Jesus, anyone that thinks they can stand on their own will wither, it is just a function of time. Not only is the grapevine dependent on the vinedresser for propping, the grapevine is also dependent on the vinedresser for pruning. Pruning is a process whereby a fruitful branch is trimmed so that it can be more fruitful. The grapevine also needs the vinedresser for cutting. Read the rest of this entry

Unique

Ps.40:7-8 “Then I said, “Look, I have come. As is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”

Please read John 3:22-36. As you read, I pray that these Ancient Word will impart your life. John 3:22Then Jesus and his disciples left Jerusalem and went into the Judean countryside. Jesus spent some time with them there, baptizing people.” Read the rest of this entry

Light Gift

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (KJV]

John 3:18There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” Jesus came to save not to condemn. Read the rest of this entry

By Revelation

John 1:31-32 I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

We kick off today with our final thought from yesterday and that is, God chose the one that had known Jesus from the womb and grew up with Him not to depend on his natural knowledge of Jesus. Why? So that God can reveal Jesus to him in a supernatural way. Read the rest of this entry

Three Rs

John 1:10-12 He was in the world… the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (NIV, emphasis added).

Recognize Him? John the Baptist and Jesus were cousins, but John had to recognize Jesus. John did not as his cousin. When he saw Him coming for baptism, John said, “Behold! The Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world”, not behold my cousin, cousin Jay. Read the rest of this entry

Character & Charisma

1 Cor. 13:2 “What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge? And what if I had faith that moved mountains? I would be nothing, unless I loved others.”(CEV)

It is so amazing that the Holy Spirit is so involved. Sadly, sometimes we just run off without engaging Him. If we do not engage the Holy Spirit, we cannot get the best that God has to offer. The quality of our lives here on earth as believers, is directly proportional to our relationship with the Holy Spirit, to how much of Him we allow in our lives, to how open we are to Him, to how open we are to His leading, to His direction, to His guidance. Responses I

Ps. 92:4-6 “You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. O Lord, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this”

How does your shepherd respond when you are in a pit? If one falls into a deep pit, there are more than five world views on the corresponding response. I am going to share five of the major world views from the five major world religions. Read the rest of this entry

The Charge

Acts 15:32-33 “Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith. They stayed for a while, and then the believers sent them back to the church in Jerusalem with a blessing of peace.”

We will begin today’s devotional by staying with the question from yesterday. People do not get answers because they do not stay with the question for long enough. The question is, who is spiritually better because of you? Read the rest of this entry

D.A.B

Mark 5:33-34 “Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”

Jesus could have said, “Woman! Why are you trying to make me unclean?” But Jesus said, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”  With this statement, Jesus did three huge things in the life Read the rest of this entry

Be Deliberate

Mark 5:28-29 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.

Mark 5:27She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe.” Unlike Jairus, this woman did not approach Jesus from the front. She was afraid because of her condition. She probably Read the rest of this entry
