Spirit Guided
2 Pet. 3:17-18 (MSG) “But you, friends, are well-warned. Be on guard lest you lose your footing and get swept off your feet by these lawless and loose-talking teachers. Grow in grace and understanding of our Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ…”
In a counselling session, my wife and I were speaking to a couple about submission. One of the ways God has helped me in my life is, I hear what is spoken and what is not spoken. In the course of the session, Read the rest of this entry
Path of Godliness
2 Tim.3:16 (TPT) “Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.”
Everyone you come in contact with has an eternal destiny. You have to make the most of every opportunity to witness Christ. When God opens a door for you to preach the gospel, just preach the Word. Read the rest of this entry
Stop Running!
Eze.34:2 “…Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep… 4 You have not taken care of the weak. You have not tended the sick or bound up the injured. You have not gone looking for those who have wandered away and are lost…” [with emphasis].
If God is your shepherd, you cannot be stranded. Will you have tough times, times where you need to dig in and dig deep? Of cause. But you will never be stranded. Read the rest of this entry
Right Leading
Ps.23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake” [NKJV, with emphasis].
David shows us a very clear progression here. There has to be a making and there has to be a leading before there can be a restoration. The reason it has been impossible for people Read the rest of this entry
My Story
Isa.6:8 “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me” (KJV).
This scripture is very personal to me and pivotal to my relationship with Jesus. The crossroads affords us the opportunity of changing our direction or staying on course. Read the rest of this entry
Stay The Course
Matt.26:39 “He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
Jesus was also tempted to take the way of self. The cross was hard; when He was at Gethsemane Jesus said, “Father, if it is possible let this cup pass over me.” Read the rest of this entry
The Way
Jn.14:6 (NKJV) “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The illustration in today’s devotional is not original, the Holy Spirit drew it for me. This is an attempt to graphically capture what He drew. I am just communicating what I have received of the Lord, so please pay attention because Read the rest of this entry

James 1:5 “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking” [with emphasis]
To know something is one thing, to understand it is another thing, and to properly apply it is wisdom. Wisdom is the proper application of what you know. Read the rest of this entry
Because… II
1 John 3:1 (LB) “See how very much our Heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called his children – think of it – and we really are!”
The Bible says in Eccl. 4:4 (GN) “I’ve learned why people work so hard to succeed; it’s because they envy the things their neighbours have” [with emphasis]. If you let the envy of the things that neighbours have become the fuel in the engine that drives your productivity, you will be, of all men, the most miserable. Read the rest of this entry
Economy Mode
Eccl. 8:6 (GN)”There is a right time and a right way to do everything but we know so little.” [with emphasis]
People and things will waste your time; sometimes this is inevitable and outside of your control. However, whether your energy will be conserved or wasted is always within your control. Let me illustrate with an experience I had some years ago. Read the rest of this entry
