Hands On
Acts 3:6-7 “But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly…”
Compassion. Faith. Action. Persistence. Our fifth lesson for the four men in Mark 2:1-12 is Creativity. These men were creative, they dared to do something different. Sometimes, we look at a situation and we accept defeat – it is my fault, these things are just the way they are so there is nothing I can do. Read the rest of this entry
Not With Ahab!
Prov. 29:24 “You are your own worst enemy when you partner with a thief, for a curse of guilt will come upon you when you fail to report a crime.” (TPT)
Success is almost never a one man show. Nobody does it alone, nobody! We need each other, which is why you need to be part of a church community. For your ship to get out of the harbour and for your ship to set sail, you have to have the correct Read the rest of this entry
The Six
Philip.4:12-13 “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Yesterday, we established that a lot of people are running their lives, businesses, ministries by their hands instead of placing it in God’s hands. It is when you give it to God that God breathes on it and it multiplies. Read the rest of this entry
This Too
John 19:19,21-22 “And Pilate posted a sign on the cross that read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” …Then the leading priests objected and said to Pilate, “Change it from ‘The King of the Jews’ to ‘He said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate replied, “No, what I have written, I have written.”
John 19:38-39 “Afterward Joseph of Arimathea, who had been a secret disciple of Jesus (because he feared the Jewish leaders), asked Pilate for permission to take down Jesus’ body. When Pilate gave permission, Joseph came and took the body away. With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night. He brought about seventy-five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes.” Read the rest of this entry
Defender
John 8:7-8 “They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.”
Maybe when Jesus stooped down the second time, He was writing what would happen next. ‘They will drop their stones and run away.’ The Bible says in Prov.20:9 “Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin”? Jesus knew this and He said to them, Read the rest of this entry
Instruction
2 Tim.3:16 “Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.” (TPT]
John 5:7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” God is focused on you, “Would you be made whole?” What do you want? Instead, you are focused on how your sister cheated you fifteen years ago. Refocus
Ps.121:1-2 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” (AMPC].
We have to be totally unassuming when we are dealing with God. Sometimes, it is a pattern that God has established; the angel stirs the water, the first to get in gets healed. It was God that established it for them, but the man became fixated on it and it became his plan of how his healing would happen. Read the rest of this entry
Learn & Grow, I
1 John 4:6 “But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.”
In today’s devotional, we will be answering some questions. So, pay attention.
Question #1: How do we develop the spirit of discernment? Heb.5:14 “…by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (NKJV]. Discernment can be developed by reason of use; the more you exercise it, the sharper you become, and the better it becomes. Read the rest of this entry
Surrendered
James 5:17 (AMP) “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.”
Gal. 5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (emphasis added). God’s Word is amazingly clear. Who produces the fruit? It is the Holy Spirit. We must remain yielded to Him. Read the rest of this entry
Turn Around
Isa.61:2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” (emphasis added).
We will start today’s devotional with the final thoughts from yesterday. God is replacing every ash on the head with a crown of beauty. But God does not just stop at the head alone. He gives us the oil of joy instead of mourning. Read the rest of this entry
