Prosperity Test III
‘They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life’ 1 Tim 6:18-19.
‘He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’ Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. 19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’ Luke 12:17-19. The fool thinks by storing up his money he will be Read the rest of this entry
Heavens Appraisal
“And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? Luke 16:11
If at the end of this month, God gives you your annual income along with your regular monthly take home pay, what will you do with it? Calculate it and think!
You need to embrace the truth of the Word of God as is. God says Jesus became poor so that you through His poverty can become rich. To become rich in God, you have to come through the poverty of Jesus. What Read the rest of this entry
The Gospel
‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised’ Luke 4:18 [KJV]
A colleague of mine said that in Nigerian churches there is too much warfare. They are constantly praying against the devil. Everything is fall down and die. Everything cannot be falling down and dying. If every thing is to fall down and die, then all of us will not be here today. While there is nothing necessarily wrong with praying violently, but there is an abuse of it. My colleague was insisting that in the United Kingdom, they never had to pray like that. And I said the demons we are facing here are different from the ones in the Read the rest of this entry
Rich Givers
‘Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others’ 1Tim.6:18.
God has blessed me with more than I need. I am grateful. I am rich. I will not trust in riches but in Him who richly provides for me. It is important that you realize that you are rich. It is not so much of a prophecy, it is a fact, and it is the truth. You are rich. Let me remind you that if you earn fifty thousand a month for instance, you are richer than five billion people on earth and you are in the top 21% richest Read the rest of this entry
Consider This I
‘Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine’ 1 Sam.17:40 [NIV]
There are a few interesting things that I want to bring to your attention. Firstly, Saul gave David his own armor. But after trying them on, David knew that this was not going to work for him so he took it off because he had not proved them. Then David looked at goliath and deployed innovative thinking. If you remember in the story, David said to Saul, the Lion came and I killed it. I held it by the beard and killed Read the rest of this entry
Just Do It!
‘His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it” John 2:5 [NKJV]
In John 2 there is an amazing story where Jesus and His mother were at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. If you have been in church for a while, you would know this story. The celebrants ran out of wine and something very interesting happened. The mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no more wine, fix it” [translated]. Jesus said, “woman what is my business with that” [translated]. Then Jesus’ mother Read the rest of this entry
Starting Point
‘So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God’ Rom.5:11
Today I want to share an experience with you that happened to me over ten years ago. It is not all together new but some of you might be reading this for the first time. I trust that God will breath on it a fresh and use it to grow you in enquiring from the Lord. I was on a flight and sitting beside me was this frail old Caucasian woman. As is customary for me, I asked the Holy Spirit, “Who is this lady?” If I am going to be sitting beside Read the rest of this entry
By Significance IV
‘For this is what the Lord says: David will have a descendant sitting on the throne of Israel forever’ Jer.33:17.
The second thing that David left us is the perpetual kingship of Israel. In fact the kingship of Israel is known as the throne of David. Whoever is going to be king in Israel is occupying the throne of David [Jer.33:17]. Even Jesus is called the Son of David and the Bible says Jesus will sit on the throne of David his father [Luke 1:32]. That is just minded blowing. David left two major legacies – perpetual kingship of Israel and the Book of Psalms. Again in the Psalms, you Read the rest of this entry
Next Door
David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies if the living God?” 1Sam.17:26.
‘But when David’s oldest brother Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!”’ 1Sam.17:28. I was fresh out of school and had just finished the National Youth Service Corps service year. And I wanted to do an I.T. certification MCSC. This Read the rest of this entry
Ignore The “Eliabs”
‘He walked over to some others and asked them the same thing and received the same answer. Then David’s question was reported to king Saul, and the king sent for him’ 1Sam.17:30-31
