The People III

Matt.2: 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

#4. The Wise men. It is interesting that God is not a respecter of people, or race, or color, or tribe. These wise men came all the way from the east and they worshipped Jesus.

The People II

Matt.2: 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

#2. The Scholars. They are religious people and they know the Bible. In fact, when Herod called the scribe to inquire about where the Christ will be born, he did not even need to look at the Bible.

The People I

Matt.2:1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Just as divine guidance was key to locating Christ, divine guidance will be key to locating your destiny.

Divine Guidance

Ps.31: For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.”

Good News!

Isa.9:6 (KJV) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Irrational Compassion

Luke 10:34 “…Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’”

Show Compassion

James 2:15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “…stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? 17…faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead…”

Sometimes people get too distracted with the inconveniences around them to remember to show compassion.

Hear No Falsehood

Jer.29:8  This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in my name. I have not sent them…”

Do not allow people tell you what is not God’s will. Do not allow people tingle your ears with things that are contrary to what God has said. No matter how nice it sounds, do not listen to them.

Stand!

Isa. 40:8 (NIV) “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

We spend a lot of energy trying to avoid challenges but we actually should be thanking God for them. Challenges and adversity help us to develop endurance and endurance is a powerful weapon to have in your character arsenal. Read the rest of this entry

Divine Possibilities

Matt.19: 21 [NIV] “…go, sell your possessions and give to the poor… 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”

The cost of having vision, of being a God-inspired visionary as exemplified in this Scripture, is losing everything. And Jesus says the reward is you will get a hundred times more in this present world and eternal life in the world to come. Read the rest of this entry
