Q & A VII
Eph.1:17 (TPT) “I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.”
Question: Is there a difference between this tongues Paul refers to in 1 Cor.14 and the tongues that is the prayer language? Read the rest of this entry
Light
1 Thess. 4:11 (GN) “Make it your aim to live a quiet life, to mind your own business, and earn your own living… In this way, you will win the respect of those who are not believers…”
Over the past few days, God has been answering the question, “Why Work?” In addition to work being God’s idea, work being a tool God uses to supply our needs, and work being a platform that God uses to build character in us, today God is saying to us work because work allows you to be generous. Open Doors
Deut. 28:12 “The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow”
Everything you are not grateful for will eventually exit your life. You are there waiting on God to do xyz for you to be happy. An anonymous quote reads, “It’s not happy people who are thankful. It’s thankful people who are happy”. Stop waiting for that promotion, the open doors, a child or marriage to happen before you show gratitude to God. God is saying be grateful then you will be happy. We often let “what could be” rob us of the joy of what will be or already is.
Focus On God!
“God, because of Your great love, answer me. You are truly able to save. Pull me from the mud, and do not let me sink… Do not let the flood drown me…” Psalm 69:13-15 [NCV, emphasis added]
Problems attempt to press us into defeat but when your situation looks DEFEATING, think about The Greatness of God. When your situation looks defeating, do not throw your hands in the air and give up. Instead, engage your mind and adjust your focus to God’s greatness. We need to stop focusing on the things that drain life out of us, and start focusing on our God that infuses us with life.
Guaranteed Victory
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” Rev.12:11 [KJV]
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there” Gal.5:24. Do not toy with the desires of the flesh. Recognize the desires of their flesh and put it on the Cross of Calvary. Like someone beautifully puts it, “the Cross simply is the place where your will crosses with the will of the Holy Spirit”. He Is Waiting
“Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” Lu.17:17-18 [emphasis added]
Our God is an action God. He is always doing stuff. He is always creating. He is always in motion. When Jesus walked physically on the earth, He was going everywhere healing the sick, raising the dead, delivering the captive. So we are accustomed to a God that does stuff; we are accustomed to an ever-active God. In fact, when we need things done in our lives we run to Jesus because we know that Read the rest of this entry
It’s Your Decision
‘For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught… James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed. Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people… they left everything and followed Jesus’ Luke 5:9-11.
My job today is very easy. I am putting forward a question to you, so here goes. Are you going to spend your one and only life fishing for the small fish or are you going to invest it in fishing for the big fish? It is always going to be about the big fish or the small fish. You choose! Jesus was saying to Peter, James, and John, and is saying to us today, you have to choose whether you are going to be catching the small fish or the human sized fish. It is either fish-fish or human-fish. Jesus is Read the rest of this entry
God’s Way
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
God broke the ice when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for you and me. And now that God has demonstrated how to break the ice, He is saying it is your turn and it is my turn. The ultimate purpose of your destiny and mine is to help people find God. Naaman had a house-help and she helped Naaman find God. It might seem small but in that single act, she fulfilled her destiny. You Read the rest of this entry
Before and After II
“He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.” Luke 9:30, 32-33
You have a story and I have a story. God wants us to tell our stories for His glory. There was a time that the devil almost killed me with sickness. I took injections everyday for over forty days. That’s to show you how bad it was. But I cried to Jesus and He healed me. I can’t remember the last time I took any injection. That can only be God. Can anyone tell me that Jesus does not exist? What is your Read the rest of this entry
Before and After I
‘He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see’ John 9:25
You also have a story and a powerful story for that matter. Your job is to learn how to tell your story. Please read John 9. There was a man that was born blind and Jesus healed him. The response of the religious leaders to the man’s healing was ‘this is a Sabbath day you cannot be healed on a Sabbath day’. Can you imagine that? Think about it, those religious leaders were just insensitive. Read the rest of this entry
