Sweet Hour

Heb.4: 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

God wants us to come to Him boldly but most times we look at the mistakes we have made and the mess it has created, and we run from God. I am telling you today that the value of your life does not depend on the mess you have made. The value of your life is dependent upon the price that Christ has paid. When you do not see yourself in the light of the mess and the mistakes you have made, and you look at the cross and seeing how much you are worth [Jesus dying for you], your spiritual awareness rises. You are actually Read the rest of this entry

His Charge

Matt.11:29 “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

The advantage we gain in the place of prayer is liberty. Whereas we enter into God’s Presence bent under the weight of our burdens. We come out standing tall because we leave the burdens there. The story is told of a man who was driving along the road and saw an old woman carrying a very heavy load. So he decided to give her a ride and bring her some relief. But when he looked through his rear-view mirror, he saw the woman still carrying the load on her head. He parked the car immediately and ran to the back of the truck. Read the rest of this entry

The Advantage!

Eph.3:11 This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord 12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence” [emphasis added]

The Privilege of Prayer: One of the greatest privileges that Jesus gave us is prayer. The ability to show up before God and pray is one of the greatest privileges of being a Christian. It is beautiful to know that because of Christ, we can come boldly and confidently into God’s Presence. Jn.14:13 “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” [emphasis added]. Jesus assures us twice that if we ask for anything, Read the rest of this entry

Simply Doable!

Ps.4:3 “You can be sure that anyone who serves the Lord faithfully is special to him. The Lord listens when I pray to him” [ERV]

We must never overlook the first thing that Jesus points out to us which is that prayer is based on our relationship with God as our Father.  Make sure that this relationship is intact and then let your prayers flow from that birthplace. Matt.6:9 …Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (KJV) Read the rest of this entry

The Outline

Rom.8:26And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”

Jesus Himself has provided us with a pattern of prayer; use it and trust that the Holy Spirit will take you deeper. Jesus says start with worship, then align with God’s Kingdom and pray that His will would be done here on earth. Jesus says, “I know you have needs, so ask God alone to supply those needs because He is your source.” When you acknowledge God as your source, asking for your daily bread becomes easier.

Matt.6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. The next thing you do is ask for forgiveness and receive forgiveness. To Read the rest of this entry

Blue Print

Matt.6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name” [KJV, emphasis added]

Jesus does not only give us a pattern of prayer, He also instructs us to pray like this.  Jesus says the first thing you do when you approach God, is to worship. Matt.6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Jesus says the second thing is to be Kingdom minded. This means praying for your pastor and your church family. You pray for missionaries, for the Word of God to prosper on earth, and for the churches that are being persecuted on earth. You pray for God’s Kingdom even in your work place; that it Read the rest of this entry

This Is It!

Matt.18:18 I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

If they are looking for people in your neighborhood that can stand and hold God’s hands, they should knock on your door. It is people like you that speak to God and He listens. Let this truth follow you into your prayer room or your closet with God and watch faith and power fill the room. So, approach God beginning today, confident that it is people like you  who speak to God and He listens. It is people like you that decree things and they happen. Power is powerful. So when you come to the place of prayer, you must understand Read the rest of this entry

You Can!

Mk.11:24I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.”

What makes prayer sweet? How do we enjoy the sweet hour of prayer? How do we come into God’s Presence and leave wanting more? Over the next few days, we will be engaging the power of prayer, the pattern of prayer, the privilege of prayer and the pleasures of prayer. Heart Song

Ps.105:2 “Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.”

There is no alternative to prayer. You just have to pray! Prayer is talking to God, in the Name of Jesus Christ His Son and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Worship is a big part of prayer because it shifts our focus to God alone and we are better positioned to pray. So today we will worship. Think through the words and sing your heart to God. No Alternative

Luke 18:1 “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up”

I have a message for someone reading this today, the good news that God is driving away from your territory that which has been eating your harvest. I pray that you receive this good news and thank God for it.

When I got saved over two decades ago, I was convinced that there must be an alternative to prayer. And it was because of how difficult I felt prayer was. My thoughts were, “if it is this hard, there has to be an alternative”. So I began to research; a personal quest Read the rest of this entry
