It is okay to start small. Just start and go forward! You and I must develop the willingness to do what it takes. God says, “Do not despise the days of little beginnings”. Just The Beginning
Zech.4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand” [emphasis added].
The plumb line is the tool of your trade. We all have a plumb line. What is your plumb line? Chalk would be the plumb line for someone who is a teacher. A doctor’s plumb line would probably the stethoscope. For people who are into software, their plumb line would most likely be their computer. God needs to see the plumb line your hands. The Bible says, “…the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line…”

Haggai 2:7 “I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will be brought to this Temple. I will fill this place with glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”
Today we will kick off with our closing thought from yesterday, which is holding on to what God has placed a demand on renders that thing useless to you. Take the principle of tithing for instance, whoever decides to keep God’s ten percent will not only lose that ten percent, the person will end up losing everything. That is just how it works. Anything you do not honor God with becomes labeled for destruction. That is how it works.
Get To Work!
Isa.40:29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
The world has no sympathy for the weak. The only place where your weakness is valuable is in the Presence of God. That is the only place where, when we are weak, we are made strong. It is in His Presence that we can exchange our weakness for His strength. “Unto him that overcometh”, this phrase is repeated a couple of times in the Book of Revelations. Truth Speaking
James 2:21 …Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions…22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete…24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. [emphasis added].
God is clear in His Word about faith and actions. Unfortunately, there is this crop of Christians claiming that all you need is faith. They say that once you believe in Jesus, you can do anything you want to do. There is nothing you can do to make God love you less. While that is true, that is only one side of the equation – incomplete. A lot of married people are engaging in extra marital affairs and claiming a new dispensation of grace. I call that reading the Bible upside down.
Action Time!
James 2:19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless [action]? [emphasis added].
Question 4: Am I taking action? The question you need to ask yourself to go forward is, “Am I taking action?” Walt Disney says, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” –Walt Disney. This sounds simple, right? Unfortunately a lot of people just talk and do nothing. You have been talking about those business ideas forever; when are you going to start? No matter how much God loves people, He tells the story of their lives as it is. This thread runs through the entire Bible – Isaac, Israel, Paul, Peter, Matthew, Rahab. Concerning Rahab, I would say to God, “How about removing the part that she was a prostitute? So that Jesus can have a clean linage”. Even with David, the man after God’s heart, God was brutally truthful in telling his story including the episode with Bathsheba. Gen.5:23 “Enoch lived 365 years, 24 walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.”
Every time you allow the world to contaminate your consecration to God, you are asking for trouble. One major hazard to God’s people has always been the influence of the people around them. The examples in Scripture are for you and I, so that we do not make the same mistakes they made. Do not gloss over it! Learn from it. A ship can go from one continent to another without sinking as long as the ocean stays outside of the ship. The moment the water begins to enter the ship, it will sink. Prov.20:6 “Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?”
Question 2: The second question you need to wrestle with to move forward is: Is there someone I need to love from a distance? Now, forgiveness is one thing and trust is another. To confuse the two is suicidal. In fact I will advise you to love everyone but trust a few. There will always be some people whose only objective is to drag you back, by injecting negative energy into you. You need to identify such people and love them from a distance.
