His Song

Ps. 42:8 “Yet in the light of day, the Eternal shows me His love. When night settles in and all is dark, He keeps me company—His soothing song, a prayerful melody to the True God of my life.” (Voice)

So, what kind of song could Paul and Silas have been singing? Perhaps it was, “All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name! Let angels, prostrate fall; bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all! Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, And crown Him Lord of all!” They were in chains and in the dungeon, but they were singing taping their feet and making music with the chains. Destiny Matters

2 Tim.3:16-17 “Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.” (MSG).

A man went to his doctor to complain, he was convinced that something was wrong. The doctor ran some tests and presented his findings to the man. The doctor told him that he needed to change something urgently. Read the rest of this entry

His Comfort

John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (NKJV]

John 16:2For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.” So, what is it about being expelled from the synagogue and why does it have such a stronghold on the Jews? For us, when we think about it is like someone being expelled or excommunicated from church. Read the rest of this entry

Staying Power

John 16:1 “I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith.”

We cannot thank God enough for the transformation we are experiencing through His Word and our study in the Book of John. God is not done with us yet. If you could ask God one question right now, what will it be? Our anchor text for the next few days is John 16:1-33 [please read]. Read the rest of this entry

No Limits

Ps. 50:10-11 “For all the animals of field and forest are mine! The cattle on a thousand hills! And all the birds upon the mountains!” (TLB]

One of the best gifts you can give yourself is to leave “How” to God. Just leave the “How” to God. As a Pastor, I have had different seasons in my life. Initially, as soon as God speaks to me and tells me the direction, I would be eager to share it. Read the rest of this entry

The Path

John 6:4 “(It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.)”

When you look at the event of things, it was approximately six months exist between John 5 and John 6. It was almost time for the Jewish Passover celebration. Remember, in John 2, Jesus went from Capernaum to Jerusalem for the Passover, which was the first Passover of Jesus’ ministry. Read the rest of this entry

Refocus

Ps.121:1-2 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” (AMPC].

We have to be totally unassuming when we are dealing with God. Sometimes, it is a pattern that God has established; the angel stirs the water, the first to get in gets healed. It was God that established it for them, but the man became fixated on it and it became his plan of how his healing would happen. Read the rest of this entry

Of The Spirit

John 3:5 “Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” (emphasis added)

John 3:8The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” It also means that you cannot explain the operations of people that are born of the Spirit. The Path

John 2:11 “This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”

John 2:9-10When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” (NRSV, emphasis added). Every time people look at your life and say, “We thought we had seen your best, but this is even better!” Read the rest of this entry

Shepherd vs. Cowboy

Ps.26:3 “Your constant love is my guide and your faithfulness always leads me.” (TEV, emphasis added)

Who is your shepherd? I hope that by now you can say Only Jesus! A lot of us know people or are people that travel. When we travel to new places, sometimes we go around the city just to appreciate the sights. Read the rest of this entry
