John 6:4 “(It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.)”
When you look at the event of things, it was approximately six months exist between John 5 and John 6. It was almost time for the Jewish Passover celebration. Remember, in John 2, Jesus went from Capernaum to Jerusalem for the Passover, which was the first Passover of Jesus’ ministry. Read the rest of this entry
Refocus
Ps.121:1-2 “I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]—From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” (AMPC].
We have to be totally unassuming when we are dealing with God. Sometimes, it is a pattern that God has established; the angel stirs the water, the first to get in gets healed. It was God that established it for them, but the man became fixated on it and it became his plan of how his healing would happen. Read the rest of this entry
Of The Spirit
John 3:5 “Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.” (emphasis added)
John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” It also means that you cannot explain the operations of people that are born of the Spirit. John 2:11 “This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.”
John 2:9-10 “When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” (NRSV, emphasis added). Every time people look at your life and say, “We thought we had seen your best, but this is even better!” Read the rest of this entry
Shepherd vs. Cowboy
Ps.26:3 “Your constant love is my guide and your faithfulness always leads me.” (TEV, emphasis added)
Who is your shepherd? I hope that by now you can say Only Jesus! A lot of us know people or are people that travel. When we travel to new places, sometimes we go around the city just to appreciate the sights. Read the rest of this entry
Can He?
Ps. 121:1-2 “I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!”
There is no help apart from the Lord. Anyone or any force that claims they want to help you, if God does not help you, they are wasting your time. David understands this and David says, “…My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Read the rest of this entry
The Charge
Acts 15:32-33 “Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith. They stayed for a while, and then the believers sent them back to the church in Jerusalem with a blessing of peace.”
We will begin today’s devotional by staying with the question from yesterday. People do not get answers because they do not stay with the question for long enough. The question is, who is spiritually better because of you? Read the rest of this entry
Surplus
Isa. 35:6-7 “The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland. The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land…”
God is a God of abundance. Lack [poverty] is inconsistent with the nature of God. Check the Bible, every time God had to meet a need, He goes over and above even when it is not necessary. Read the rest of this entry
Purpose & Produce
2 Cor.4:17 “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
The next fact you need to know about suffering is, In The End, We Win. No matter how tough the battle is, in the end, we win. Check the scriptures; that is what the Bible tells us from Genesis to Revelations. Read the rest of this entry
Be Still
1 Pet.5:10 (BSB) “And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you.” (emphasis added)
Pain is not palatable for anyone, not even Jesus. But God’s Words says, if something strange is happening to you, do not think it is something strange. I am not saying that pain is palatable. Read the rest of this entry
