Treasured
Matt.18:12-13 (VOICE) “…Should the shepherd leave the flock on the hills unguarded to search for the lost sheep? God’s shepherd goes to look for that one lost sheep and when he finds her, he is happier about her return than he is about the 99 who stayed put.”
You need a shepherd and you need a flock. Isa.53:6 “We’re ALL like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him.”(MSG, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry
Look Inside
Matt.2:10 “When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! 11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh” [with emphasis].
These men were rather wealthy and well advanced in age but as soon as they saw Jesus, they bowed and worshipped Him. The question to you as we celebrate Christmas is, what is keeping you from bowing to Jesus? Read the rest of this entry
Childlike
Mark 10:14 “…Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” [with emphasis].
When God looks at you and calls you champion, it is not wishful thinking or motivational speaking. God is not just trying to make you feel good and He is not just trying to pep you up. Read the rest of this entry
Potential
Isa.9:6 (KJV, with emphasis) “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
The Bible says that the responsibility of governance, the responsibility of human leadership will rest upon the shoulders of this child. The peace you and I are looking for is in our alignment with the right government. Read the rest of this entry
Prophecy Personified
Isa.9:6 [KJV] “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Is the Lordship of Jesus fact or fiction? Is Jesus just an imaginary friend or is He as real as He has been proclaimed to be? Is Jesus just a figment of our imagination? Read the rest of this entry
Secure Indeed
Ps.62:1-2 [MSG] “God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, an impregnable castle: I’m set for life.”
Imagine this, a child is jolted from deep sleep by the sound of thunder and the first thing he sees is lighting flashing through the window blinds. The lights are off because the storm has caused a power outage, Read the rest of this entry
The Making II
Ps.23:2 (NKJV) “He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; 3 he restores my soul…” [with emphasis].
Some time ago, I saw a documentary on a huge sea turtle that found its way on shore in Florida. The turtle was meant for the ocean, so it did not know what to do on land, Read the rest of this entry
Your Shield
Ps. 35:1 “Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me” [NIV]
Years ago, someone told me he thought I was too fierce because in his opinion, if you leave the devil alone he will leave you alone. Then life happened, and he called me and said, Read the rest of this entry
Provocative Maneuvers
Gen.22:16 “This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that 17 I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore…” [with emphasis]
God has feelings, God can be blessed. David says, “Bless the Lord Oh my soul!” In our scripture reference today, God says because of what Abraham did, he provoked an uncommon response from God. Read the rest of this entry
Dealings
Matt.15:8 ‘These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’”
You have to choose whether to honour God or not. Honour is the singular proof that a child loves his father. It is not the frequency of the hugs or how often you confess your love. It is honour that is proof of your love for your Father. Read the rest of this entry
