By Revelation

John 1:31-32 I myself did not know him; but I came baptizing with water for this reason, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.” (NRSV, emphasis added)

We kick off today with our final thought from yesterday and that is, God chose the one that had known Jesus from the womb and grew up with Him not to depend on his natural knowledge of Jesus. Why? So that God can reveal Jesus to him in a supernatural way. Read the rest of this entry

Acts 16:18 “This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.” (emphasis added).

Today, we will start off by concluding on the story in Acts 16. What do you think would have happened if Paul and the others did not discern the source of the girl’s manifestations? Like we said yesterday, it is not every time that God requires us to address such manifestations. However, the gift of discernment of spirits helps you to be spiritually aware. 1 Cor.12:4-5 “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord.” (emphasis added)

Discerning of spirits means recognizing the source of a manifestation. Why is this important? It is because not everything spiritual is from the Holy Spirit. Recognizing the source of a manifestation is the gift of discernment of spirits and it is so indispensable in this our time. Read the rest of this entry

1Cor.12:31 “But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces) …” (AMPC)

1 Cor. 12:9-10to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” (NKJV). The third gift is the gift of Faith. There are three types of faith in the scriptures. There is a saving faith. There is the fruit of faith. And there is the gift of faith. Be Well-versed

1 Cor.12:4-5 “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.  There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord.” (emphasis added).

Over the next few days, we will be examining an aspect of the Holy Spirit that is so fundamental and pivotal to our faith. It is also an aspect that perhaps a lot of Christians really do not understand. However, to be all that God had called us to be as Christians, we need to understand the aspect of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is fundamental to our faith. Read the rest of this entry

In His Name, I

Ps. 30:4 (NKJV) “Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.”

If someone knows your qualifications [you have BSE, MSE, Ph.D., PhD+, PhD++], does it mean the person knows you? He or she may know what you are capable of – faster than Usain Bolt, stronger than Hulk, can defeat Mohammed Ali. Those are just your attributes but that is not your person. Mindful

Joshua 23:11 “So be very careful to love the Lord your God.”

The Holy Spirit is a person you can love and talk to. As we learn to love and learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit, it leads to us learning His moods and understanding His feelings. You need to learn His moods and understand His feelings. While there are certain things that the Lord is not interested in. There are certain areas that God wants to move in. Present Help I

Matt. 28:20 “Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

I want us to start today’s devotion by worshipping God for a little while before we get into the word. Let’s sing this song together: Precious Holy Spirit. We’re in need of You, Come purify our passion. Lord, Come and make us new. We are Standing here before You oh God. Just the way we are. Please take our weakness and Let life flow again. You are brooding Over every darkness; You are causing Light to shine from darkness. I yield my heart, soul, spirit, and body to You.Amen! Read the rest of this entry

Advantage II

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Yesterday, we looked at two benefits of walking with the Holy Spirit and they are: The Holy Spirit Teaches Us To Pray And Gives Us A Prayer Language and The Holy Spirit Comes Bearing Gifts. Read the rest of this entry

Our Advocate

John 14:16-18, & 20 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. …I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

When we look at what theologians have called the dispensation of divinity; there is a period that they categorize as the dispensation of Jehovah, of God the Father. That period is from creation till when Jesus came. Some people say that when Jesus came is the dispensation of the Son. Read the rest of this entry
