On Course?
Prov.22:6 (MSG) “Point your kids in the right direction—when they’re old they won’t be lost.”
Rom.12:6 (LB) “God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well.” In my business, I discovered that I am really not interested in money and that’s not good for business, I can give everything away and, that can be a problem. Read the rest of this entry

Gal.6:4 (Philips) “Let everyone learn to assess properly the value of his own work. Then he can be rightly proud when he has done something worth doing, without depending on the approval of others” [with emphasis]
You need to know how to evaluate your job and tell yourself the truth. Stop waiting on people to tell you that you have done a good job. Just come up with ways of evaluating every task. Read the rest of this entry
The Joker
1Cor.2:8 “But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. 9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared…”
A lot of us played cards for fun growing up and we are familiar with the card called the ‘Joker’. The ‘Joker’ is a game changer. When you pick the ‘joker’, no matter how the game swings, you remain confident. Read the rest of this entry
Advantage?
Isaiah 30:21 “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”
Stepping up starts with admitting your dependence on God. For you to step up, you need to see that without God, you really cannot be all that God has called you to be. Sadly, a lot of people are embracing the idea that they can do what they want with their lives. Read the rest of this entry
Presumption
Prov.16:9 “We should make plans—counting on God to direct us” [TLB, with emphasis].
We should make plans but we should also count on God for direction. When you ask God to help you plan, what you are saying in other words is, “let Your blessing be on the plan” and that is a different thing all together. Always start with God in the picture. It is unwise to first paint the picture and then bring it to God. It is like filling the jar and then bringing it to Him. You have to leave it empty so He can fill it; so that He can direct your steps.
The Answer!
Matt. 9:29 “According to your faith it will be done to you.”
The sixth R in banishing the fear of failure is to Replace Fear With Faith in Christ. You and I must replace our fears with faith in Christ. Why? “According to your faith it will be done to you.” You can program yourself for faith in God or the fear of failure. It is your choice. Instead of being driven by the fear of failing, you should be driven by the faith to succeed. Instead of being faith-driven success seekers, a lot of people are fear-driven failure avoiders.
The Press
Rom. 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him . . . according to His purpose” [with emphasis].
Like it or not, failure is beneficial. The second benefit of failure is that it develops our skills. Think about how children learn to walk. When they fall, they may not try it again that same day but the following day they are up again learning to walk. Thomas Edison says, “Just because something doesn’t do what you planned it to do doesn’t mean it’s useless.” Your goal is to make a candle that can stand without support but all your attempts have not fallen through. Package it in a cup and sell that one while you keep attempting.
Take Action I
Ex.17:9 “Moses called for a young leader named Joshua. Moses (to Joshua): Select some of our best men, and go fight against the soldiers of Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand at the crest of that hill overlooking the battlefield with God’s staff in my hand” [Voice, with emphasis].
The beauty about God’s Word is that the more you engage it, the more it engages you and the more it accomplishes in and through you. Please read Exodus 17:8-13. The second thing we see is that the Power to Prevail is released when you Take Action. You are the general of your life and great generals take action. Moses did not just wait for Amalek. Moses took action and initiated the battle against the Amalekites.
Permanent Part
Heb.12:16 “Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the first born son for a single meal”
No matter how much God loves people, He tells the story of their lives as it is. This thread runs through the entire Bible – Isaac, Israel, Paul, Peter, Matthew, Rahab. Concerning Rahab, I would say to God, “How about removing the part that she was a prostitute? So that Jesus can have a clean linage”. Even with David, the man after God’s heart, God was brutally truthful in telling his story including the episode with Bathsheba. Jesus obviously loved the rich young man, but Jesus still said the man chose money rather than eternity. I Read the rest of this entry
Wrestle This!
Gen.5:23 “Enoch lived 365 years, 24 walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.”
Every time you allow the world to contaminate your consecration to God, you are asking for trouble. One major hazard to God’s people has always been the influence of the people around them. The examples in Scripture are for you and I, so that we do not make the same mistakes they made. Do not gloss over it! Learn from it. A ship can go from one continent to another without sinking as long as the ocean stays outside of the ship. The moment the water begins to enter the ship, it will sink. You are in the world but you are not of Read the rest of this entry
