Act!
John 9:4 “We must work the works of Him Who sent Me and be busy with His business while it is daylight; night is coming on, when no man can work.” (AMPC].
We thank God for His Word; our study of the Book of John has been both revealing and refreshing. We must commit to act on the things God has been revealing to us in His Word. We are now in John Chapter 9 and our discourse over the next few days will be centered on John 9:1- 41 [please read]. Read the rest of this entry
Hiding Place
John 7:30 “Then the leaders tried to arrest him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his time had not yet come.”
We ended the devotional yesterday with the question, why do people die before their time? I hope that you took time out to wrestle with it. It will be impossible for any force to take you out before your time in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
Where vs. How
Eze.37:3 “And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”
We have been looking at Jesus’ intent, Jesus’ question, and Phillip’s response for the past few days because there is so much to learn as it relates to our walk with God, to leadership, and to relationships with people. The challenge is people are not able to respond appropriately when asked a question Read the rest of this entry
Compass
John 5:9-10 “Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath, so the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, “You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”
When the Bible says this miracle was done on the sabbath, you know that there is trouble coming. Telling the man that, “The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!” was a lie. It was actually a Pharisaic oral law, not the Mosaic Law. Read the rest of this entry
Instruction
2 Tim.3:16 “Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.” (TPT]
John 5:7 “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” God is focused on you, “Would you be made whole?” What do you want? Instead, you are focused on how your sister cheated you fifteen years ago. Light Gift
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (KJV]
John 3:18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” Jesus came to save not to condemn. Read the rest of this entry
Learn & Grow, I
1 John 4:6 “But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.”
In today’s devotional, we will be answering some questions. So, pay attention.
Question #1: How do we develop the spirit of discernment? Heb.5:14 “…by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (NKJV]. Discernment can be developed by reason of use; the more you exercise it, the sharper you become, and the better it becomes. Read the rest of this entry
Like Mary
John 2:3-5 “The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Mary was an executionist. Yesterday we said there are four types of people around us and we are also one of these four. The pessimist, the optimist, the analyst, and the executionist. God wants us to be executionists, people that step up and get things done despite the prevailing negativity. Read the rest of this entry
