Remember
2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
When we are in relationships, we tend to place unreasonable demands on the people we do life with asking them not to forget us. The story is told of a couple that was going through financial difficulty during the pandemic. Their jobs were not consistent and the man was really struggling. Read the rest of this entry
Mission Impossible
Num.23:23 “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel; now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, ‘See what God has done!’” (NRSV)
Esther 4:7 “Mordecai told him the whole story, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews.” This passage reveals the extent to which people would go to get what they want, in this case negative. Read the rest of this entry
The Garden
Luke 13:19 “It’s like a single mustard seed that someone took and planted in his garden. That tiny seed grew and became a tree so large that the birds could fly in and make their nests in its branches. (Voice, emphasis added).
How do you establish the Kingdom as a teacher, a writer, an entrepreneur, a solopreneur, or a journalist? Jesus says the tiny mustard seed was planted in the man’s own garden. Luke 13:18-19 “Then he said, “How can I picture God’s kingdom for you? What kind of story can I use? It’s like an acorn that a man plants in his front yard. It grows into a huge oak tree with thick branches, and eagles build nests in it.” (MSG, emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry
At Thy Word
Ps.107:20 “He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.”
God’s Word is Omnipotent; it has all the Power. Yesterday, we learnt that God can create from Pre-existing Parts [Matter Or Energy] and from nothing [“ex nihilo”]. In the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37, God did a combination, creation of pre-existing parts and creation ex-nihilo. Read the rest of this entry
The Vessel
2 Cor.4:7 “But this beautiful treasure is contained in us—cracked pots made of earth and clay—so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as coming from God and not from us.” (Voice)
Can we start our time in God’s presence today with thanksgiving? Let us thank God for all that He is doing in this season and for all that He will still do. Thank God for healing the sick, for restoring lives, for energising destinies, for promotion, and for certifications. Read the rest of this entry
The Embodiment
John 19:36 “These things happened in fulfilment of the Scriptures…”
If you were to commit your most treasured person to someone who would that person be? Our focus over the next few days is on John 19 and in this story, Jesus committed His mother to John. Who is your most precious person – is it your parent, or your child or children, or your spouse? Read the rest of this entry
Why?
Luke 22:61-62 “At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord’s words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And Peter left the courtyard, weeping bitterly.”
Why didn’t John set Peter straight after he denied Jesus the first time? Jesus was arrested and taken to face trial. John, the beloved, was a local boy of Judea so he knew everybody. While John was allowed inside with Jesus, Peter was locked outside because nobody knew him. Read the rest of this entry
The Prophecies
John 18:14 “Caiaphas was the one who had told the other Jewish leaders, “It’s better that one man should die for the people.”
Caiaphas, being the high priest, said that not knowing that he was prophesying that Jesus was going to take the place of you and me. He was prophesying that Jesus was going to take the place of the people and that is a huge substitutional sacrifice. Read the rest of this entry
Expressed
Gal. 5:22-23 “The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kind-heartedness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this.” (Voice]
We are going to run through the components of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the first one Paul mentions is Love. This is unconditional love; it is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. The love Paul is referring to in today’s scripture reference is “Agape” – unconditional. It is only the Holy Spirit that can make you love someone unconditionally. Read the rest of this entry
By The Spirit III
1Cor.12:31 “But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces) …” (AMPC)
1 Cor. 12:9-10 “to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” (NKJV). The third gift is the gift of Faith. There are three types of faith in the scriptures. There is a saving faith. There is the fruit of faith. And there is the gift of faith. Read the rest of this entry
