Active Faith
Heb.11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him”
God wants us to Step Up in different areas of our lives. We have looked at how to step up financially and spiritually. Over the next few days, we will be looking at a component of stepping up that is indispensable and that is Faith. It is impossible to Step Up without faith. Read the rest of this entry
The Test
Gen: 22:1 “Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!”… 2 “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
It is important that when we read the stories in the Bible, we do not gloss over them. You have to put yourself in these people’s shoes so you can experience God through their eyes. You have to make your trust in God bigger than your savings account, bigger than your finances. Read the rest of this entry
Faith It!
Mark 12:43-44 (MSG) “ Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.”
To Step Up financially, you need to Earn Some, Spend Less, Save More, No Loss, Invest More, Give More and finally, Faith It. For you to Step Up financially, you have to faith it and not fake it. Faith is giving what you do not have. Read the rest of this entry
Invest
Eccl.11:1 (NCV) “Invest what you have, because after a while you will get a return. 2 Invest what you have in several different businesses… 4 Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.”
To Step Up financially means Earn Some, Spend Less, Save More, No Loss and the fifth thing is Invest More. It is common knowledge that inflation beats the interest on savings in most countries. This means if all you are doing is saving money then you are losing money. Read the rest of this entry
A Lesson In Season
Prov.6:6 “Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! 7 Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, 8 they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter” [with emphasis].
To Step Up financially, the third thing you have to do is Save More. In order to create margin, you have to save more. The challenge most of the time is we over estimate what we can achieve on the short term and we really underestimate what we can achieve on the long term. Read the rest of this entry
Honorable
Jer.17:5 “The Lord says, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, who trusts in the flesh for his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 For he will be like a bush in the desert and will not see when good comes. He will live in dry wastes in the desert….”
Yesterday, we pointed out that at first read, it is easy to think that God is harsh for cursing those people who are already experiencing a tough time. But it is important to know that God is not cursing them. God is saying they are cursed. Read the rest of this entry
Give Up!
Isa.40:30 “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
You just have to wait on the Lord. The word “wait” in today’s Scripture reference is a complex word and it means to hope, to trust, to be entangled with, a sense of dependence on God. Waiting on God can include fasting but it is beyond fasting. Read the rest of this entry
Him Not I
James 4:10 (Voice) “Lay yourself bare, facedown to the ground, in humility before the Lord; and He will lift your head so you can stand tall.”
God skipped all the likely candidates and picked Joshua as the one to lead God’s people into His promise. This is not the first time we see this play out in Scripture and it was not the last time either. We must always remember that God does not see as man sees. Read the rest of this entry
Unstoppable I
Ex.15: 6 “Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy. 7 In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against you. You unleash your blazing fury; it consumes them like straw”.
Most times when God does something, the enemy also tries to imitate what God has done. Take the story of Moses for example, he threw down his rod as God instructed and it turned into a serpent. Pharaoh’s sorcerers also threw down their rods and the rods became serpents. Moses had one serpent but the enemy had many serpents. Read the rest of this entry
Nature. Things. People
Ps.77:13 “O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? 14 You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations”.
There are three spheres of miracles. God sometimes does miracles with nature. In the Bible, God caused the earth to open its mouth and swallow up His enemies. The earth will open up its mouth and swallow up all the enemies of your destiny, in Jesus Name. God has fought with wind and with hail. Secondly, God does miracles with inanimate things. Jesus fed five thousand people [please read Matt. 14:13-31].
