Reflection

John 15:16 “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

Yesterday, we highlighted four different expressions of love for God based on growth [level] in God. The spiritual infant expresses love for God by eating, sleeping, crying, and so on. The spiritual child expresses love through obedience and devotion. Read the rest of this entry

Fruit

John 19:11 “Then Jesus said, “You would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above…”

Yesterday, we talked about the glory confusion in the Church and how a lot of people are embracing shame because of ignorance. We need to understand that a man can have nothing except that which is given from above neither power nor glory. Read the rest of this entry

For This Cause

John 15:16 “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

John 15:1I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.” In yesterday’s devotional, Jesus showed us everything about our walk with God from this verse. Jesus says, He is dependent on The Father and we are dependent on Him. Anyone that thinks they are not dependent on Jesus, anyone that thinks they can stand on their own will wither, it is just a function of time. Not only is the grapevine dependent on the vinedresser for propping, the grapevine is also dependent on the vinedresser for pruning. Pruning is a process whereby a fruitful branch is trimmed so that it can be more fruitful. The grapevine also needs the vinedresser for cutting. Read the rest of this entry

God Sees, Knows, & Rewards

John 10:12–13 “But the worker who serves only for wages is not a real shepherd. Because he has no heart for the sheep he will run away and abandon them when he sees the wolf coming. And then the wolf mauls the sheep, drags them off, and scatters them.” (TPT]

We will start today’s devotional by wrestling with this question: with God’s work, are you a hireling [a hired servant] or a shepherd? What is your approach to your work, your vocation in the market place? Do you approach it as a hired servant or is it as an owner? The truth is, wealth does not flow to you Read the rest of this entry

The Question, The Answer

Prov.20:12 “Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the Lord.”

Our focus over the next few days is on John 5:1-15 [please read]. What was Jesus’ question and what was the man’s response? It would interest you to know that like this man by the pool, most people are not answering the questions they are being asked. Read the rest of this entry

Found To Find

John 4:28-29The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”

The Psalmist said in Ps.84:10A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

Right Order

Acts 17:28 (TPT) “It is through him that we live and function and have our identity; just as your own poets have said, ‘Our lineage comes from him.’”

We need to start living for the things we need to live for. Do not make the things you need to live on the things you are living for. Do not make your car what you are living for or a motorcycle rider will teach you a lesson. Read the rest of this entry

For Not On

Philip.1:21-22 “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ…” (emphasis added)

We must not confuse a full life with a meaningful life. Full does not necessarily translate to being fulfilled. It is possible to be full and not be fulfilled. We often try to fill our lives with sports, or watching television, or with social media, or with partying. Read the rest of this entry

Turn Around

Isa.61:2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” (emphasis added).

We will start today’s devotional with the final thoughts from yesterday. God is replacing every ash on the head with a crown of beauty. But God does not just stop at the head alone. He gives us the oil of joy instead of mourning. Read the rest of this entry

Take A Stand!

Prov.22:10 (LB) “Throw out the mocker and you will be rid of tension, fighting & quarrels.”

Disharmony destroys productivity. Nothing destroys productivity faster than disharmony. The same way, unity enhances productivity –disharmony destroys productivity. Read the rest of this entry
