Acceptable Response
Dan.6: 14 “Hearing this, the king was deeply troubled, and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.”
There is such a huge contrast between Darius’ and Nebuchadnezzar’s responses to “defiance”. The reason is, Dairus obviously had experienced Daniel and had respect for him. Nebuchadnezzar on the other hand, had obviously not experienced the three young men and had no respect for them. In addition to that, Nebuchadnezzar had ulterior motives. His decree was out of his insecurity. Darius on the other hand yielded to “yes men” and discovered his error. However, favour and honour made Daniel a target. Some people’s response to favour is to avoid it all together and just coast through life. Some pray that God would reduce their measure of favour so that they will not attract attention. If you are favoured please be humble but embrace it and do not apologize for it or cut yourself down. You are not doing anyone a favour by making yourself look small. Stop it!
I know a family that would always train the domestic staff that they employ. They sponsor the person up to university level and give them a chance to make a life for themselves. So, they took in a boy, very intelligent chap, and started him up on the same path. He got into school and was excelling. One day, the boy’s mother showed up and started crying. She was convinced that the family wanted her son dead because if the people in the village hear of the boy’s progress, they will kill him. She pleaded with them to let him remain at the level of a domestic staff so that she can have her son in old age. They tried to point her to God’s protective covering that is available for her and her son. But when the woman saw that they were not accepting her proposition, she let it be. Then one day, she just showed up and took the boy back to the village.
Some people feel they need to wear rags to prolong their life. I am not saying you should become arrogant but if God’s favour on your life makes you a target, God Himself will protect you. We also see from the responses of the other administrators and high officers, that when people do not respond positively to the favour on another person, they became breakfast for lions. I pray that you will respond well, and those that become jealous of the favour on your life will be breakfast for lions in Jesus Name. If God is blessing your neighbor, He is in your neighborhood, so rejoice!
Prayer: O Lord, fight those fighting me; declare war on them for their attacks on me. Put on your armor, take your shield and protect me by standing in front, in Jesus Name. Amen [Ps.35:1-2, TLB]
Hearken
1 Sam. 15:22 But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”
Please read Luke 17:11-19. Another noteworthy thing from this passage of scripture is the fact that Jews and Samaritans were together. That is not a very common scene. Read the rest of this entry
Knowing & Understanding
Isa.53:4 “Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”
I pray that the whipping that Jesus took on the cross will not be in vain in your life. I also pray that the turmoil and storms in your life will be still. Read the rest of this entry
Advantage?
Isaiah 30:21 “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”
Stepping up starts with admitting your dependence on God. For you to step up, you need to see that without God, you really cannot be all that God has called you to be. Sadly, a lot of people are embracing the idea that they can do what they want with their lives. Read the rest of this entry
God’s Elect
Jer. 1:10 (VOICE) “This very day I appointed you to speak with My authority over nations and kingdoms. Your word—My word—will have the power to uproot and stamp out; it will destroy and upend. And then your word—My word—will rebuild and plant anew”
Moses was the man that went to the mountain top and saw God face to face and when he came down people could not even look at him. Moses was the man that got the Ten Commandments directly from God. Moses was the person that lifted up his rod and the Red Sea parted. Moses was the one that brought frogs upon Egypt and many other plagues. Read the rest of this entry
Special Ability III
1 Cor.12:10 “He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern… Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret...”
To have a church, a family and to be a people that have God’s blessing that keeps intensifying in our lives, not only must we pray for power and use everybody’s language, we must Use Everybody’s Talent. Read the rest of this entry
Heavenward!
Eph.2:14 “For Christ himself has brought peace to us. …he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us” [with emphasis].
I am so confident that until I am raptured, then rapture will not end. A lot of people question my confidence and I turn them back to God’s Word. My confidence is in the truth that Jesus has come to break down the wall of hostility that separated me from God and now I have peace with God.
Mount Zion
Ex.15: 13 “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home… 18 The Lord will reign forever and ever!”
In Psalm 77:4-14 [please read], we see how the story of the Psalmist changed drastically from despair to faith in one chapter. I pray that in this current chapter of your life, your story will change drastically. The key to the drastic change that the Psalmist experienced was focus; he changed his focus to God. The Lord’s Side
2 Kings 6: 16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see…” [with emphasis]
You are not alone. There is much more to you than meets the ordinary eye and you need to begin to walk in this consciousness. David looked at Goliath and said, you are coming to me with spear and sword. You do not even know anything. The people that are behind me are the Host of Heaven. I have come to you in the Name of the Lord of Hosts, whose army you have defied. In other words, David was saying – there are three armies in this battle. There are the philistine armies of which Goliath is their champion and he is standing in the valley. There are the armies of Israel of which Saul is their champion and he is hiding in the tent. I, David have come to represent the armies of heaven and I am going to cut your head.
God’s Power
Matt.5:45 “…For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.”
It is so unfortunate that a lot of people have bought into the lie that once you become a Christian, all your problems will go away. Have you heard that before? It is a big lie! Your life and my life are proof that that is not the gospel. That is a gospel but not The Gospel. You are going to have the same problems everyone else has. However, the difference is that you are going to have God’s power to deal with the problems as they arise. You are going to feel fear, anger, depression, insecurity; but you are going to have God’s power to deal with Read the rest of this entry
