Watch Out!

Acts 5:3&5 “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.’ As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.”

Mindful

Joshua 23:11 “So be very careful to love the Lord your God.”

The Holy Spirit is a person you can love and talk to. As we learn to love and learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit, it leads to us learning His moods and understanding His feelings. You need to learn His moods and understand His feelings. While there are certain things that the Lord is not interested in. There are certain areas that God wants to move in. Present Help II

John 16:13-14 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.”

Jesus was real to the disciples; the Holy Spirit should be real to us. When the disciples encountered a stormy situation in Luke 8:22-25 [please read] and their boat was about to capsize, they ran to Jesus for help. That same way they depended on Jesus for deliverance and to still their storms when you have a storm, you should run to the Holy Spirit and say, “Spirit of the Living God, please help Your boy.” The disciples ran to Jesus, you run to the Holy Spirit. John 14:16-18, & 20 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. …I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

When we look at what theologians have called the dispensation of divinity; there is a period that they categorize as the dispensation of Jehovah, of God the Father. His Love

Ps. 119:67-68I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word. You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.” (emphasis added).

We [human parents] do not discipline. We do more than discipline, we punish. What is the difference? Remember my story from yesterday? That moment when I see my grandmother and immediately, I wish I was lost again. Read the rest of this entry

Destiny Dilemma II

2 Sam.9:1 “One day David asked, “Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive—anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

1 Sam.20:30-42 highlights Jonathan’s destiny dilemma. Should Jonathan have gone with David or did he do the right thing by staying with Saul? I know we dealt extensively with this in yesterday’s devotional. But I want to Read the rest of this entry

Destiny Dilemma I

John 1:26 (NIV) “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. 27 He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”

1 Cor.15:41 (Voice)Even among the heavenly bodies, there is a different level of brilliance: the sun shines differently than the moon, the moon differently than the stars, and the stars themselves differ in their brightness.” The key Read the rest of this entry

Gethsemane

1 Sam.23:16-17 Jonathan went to find David and encouraged him to stay strong in his faith in God. “Don’t be afraid,” Jonathan reassured him. “My father will never find you! You are going to be the king of Israel, and I will be next to you, as my father, Saul, is well aware.”

Please read 1 Sam.20:28-32 and 1 Sam.23:15-17 as we delve deeper into the life of Jonathan. The first thing that stands out from these portions of scripture is; even though David had perceived that Saul wanted to kill him. Read the rest of this entry

Like Christ

1 Sam.20:17 “And Jonathan made David reaffirm his vow of friendship again, for Jonathan loved David as he loved himself.”

Sincerely Yours

1 Sam.18:1&3 “After David had finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king’s son. There was an immediate bond between them, for Jonathan loved David… And Jonathan made a solemn pact with David, because he loved him as he loved himself.”

When Jonathan met David, he saw someone that will put his life on the line for the sake of the Kingdom of heaven. You can say, he found in David a soul mate – much more than what the phrase ‘soul mate’ has come to mean Read the rest of this entry
